Format:

  • All registered players will be seeded into a bracket based on their handicap as of September 12
  • Players will have twenty-one days (3 weeks) to play their match (this is considered the “match period”).
  • Each match will be a NET match based upon the player’s handicap on the day of play.
  • Handicaps will be applied at 80%. This means that 80% of your handicap will be used in competition. For example, if your handicap is a 10, you will play as an 8. Your opponent will also play at 80%.
  • You will need to use the GHIN app and the Handicap Calculator feature to determine the strokes you receive/give based on the course/tee you are playing.

Courses & Play Times:

  • Every round, expect the final match, can take place on any golf course during any Employee Play Time
  • The final match will be on No. 2
  • Employees are responsible for communicating amongst themselves about when/where they want to play

Tees:

UPDATE: You may play whatever set of tees you wish. Please ensure your strokes are accurately reflected by using the GHIN Handicap Calculator.

Match Scorecards:

  • Please use a normal course scorecard
  • Both players MUST sign the scorecard when finished
  • When playing No. 1-5, return your scorecard to the Main Golf Shop
  • When playing No. 6-9, return your scorecard to the course shop

Match Winners & Forfeitures:

  • A match is won when a player has won more holes than remaining to play. For example, if there are two holes to play and Player A is up by three holes, the match is over following the conclusion of the 16th hole.
  • If a match is tied after 18 holes, players may proceed to extra holes OR use a random method to determine the winner.
  • In the event that one player is unable to play during the match period or is unresponsive to communication from their opponent, the other will automatically move on to the next round.
  • In the event that neither player is able to play during the match period, the winner will be determined by a coin toss.
  • The match winner MUST communicate the result of their match to tournaments@pinehurst.com as soon as possible.

Awards:
