FIELD SIZE

Maximum field size = 120 players in one Championship division.  The final field will be determined by handicap index at the close of entries, in addition to a number of exemptions.  Exemptions listed under PLAYER INFORMATION section.

ELIGIBILITY

Entries are open to female amateur golfers that are members of a GSGA member club with an active handicap index of 10.0 and below, and a resident of the state of Georgia.

FORMAT

54 holes of individual stroke play.  There will be a cut to the low 60 players and ties after 36 holes.  New in 2025 - This is a walking-only Championship.  Players and caddies must walk at all times, unless otherwise authorized by the Committee.

 

PRACTICE ROUND

One official practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below  prior to the competition.  Practice round player fee is $50 plus tax.

  • For practice rounds prior to June 29, availability TBA.  Call club to schedule after June 19.
  • For practice rounds on Sunday, June 29, registration will be through Golf Genius.  Practice round starting times will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Instructions will be sent with player acceptance on June 19.

 

YARDAGES & TEES

 

YARDAGE BOOKS WILL BE PROVIDED AS PART OF THE PLAYER GIFT PACKAGE. 

 

 

Practice yardages will be posted online under the PLAYER INFORMATION section.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.  The posted yardages is the maximum possible set-up the course will be played.  Yardages and alternate tees will be utilized during the Championship.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open by 6:30 a.m. each day of competition.

Club PT will be on-site throughout the championship to provide complimentary mobility and stretching services.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on June 25.  

REGISTRATION

Formal registration will be held on site on Sunday, June 29 from 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Monday, June 30 from 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

CARTS/CADDIES/SPECTATOR CARTS

Practice round fees are $50 plus tax. Tournament round fees are included in the entry fee. Credit cards and cash will be accepted.

 

Players may provide their own caddie.  Push/pull carts are allowed.  This is a walking-only Championship.  Players and caddies must walk at all times unless otherwise authorized by the Committee.

 

Spectator carts will not be available due to player evacuation and staff/volunteer cart needs from GSGA and the host club.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

FOOD SERVICE/PLAYER HOSPITALITY

Food service will be available at the halfway house and in the grill throughout the competition. Lunch will be provided during rounds one and two courtesy of GSGA for BOTH players and caddies.  Lunch buffets will also be available for purchase by guests/spectators for a price of $15 plus tax.  Cash ONLY is accepted for F&B purchases. 

 

A Championship Player Welcome Party will be held on Sunday evening, June 29 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Country club casual/golf attire, no jeans or t-shirts please.  

 

 

PRIZES

Gift certificates will be awarded to the top finishers based on the total number of entries.  The following trophies will be awarded:

 

  • Champion - Eleanor M. Keeler Memorial Trophy
  • Low 18-Hole Score of the Championship - Ceil Maclaurin Trophy
  • Low 54-Hole Score by a player over 50 years of age - Burns Cup

 

The champion will also receive an exemption into the 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship and the 2026 Sea Island Women's Amateur at Sea Island Golf Club to be played 2026.  The Sea Island Women's Amateur is now part of the Women's Elite Amateur Series.  More information can be found by visiting: Sea Island Women's Amateur

 

REFUND POLICY

A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled. Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by calling the GSGA Rules and Competitions Department at (770) 955-4272 or (800) 949-4742 or via email.
