LOCAL RULES - WSGC - 2022

USGA Rules Apply and Govern Play - Except where Modified by WSGC Local Rules

Pace of Play - In order to improve the enjoyment of your round and others we encourage you to play Ready Golf. Know when it is your turn to play during a tournament.

Provisional Balls are encouraged to expedite pace of play when a ball may be lost or out of bounds. It is recommended that a player who hits a Tee Shot that may not be found (#1 left, #2 left, #17 left for example), play a provisional to avoid returning to Tee Box or the place where previous shot was played.

Mud Ball Rule (When Winter Rules are in effect only) – A lost ball that is witnessed by majority of players within group to have landed in a wet/muddy area may be dropped at said location without penalty. Please refer to WSGC Winter Rules.

Drop Area #12 - Player may drop on the Gold Tee Box with a 1 stroke penalty if there is no witness as to where the ball entered the penalty area, either left or right.

Drop Area #13 – A player may drop on the Gold Tee Box with a 1 stroke penalty for an unplayable Tee Shot that cannot be dropped no closer to hole.

Movable Obstructions - 150 yard markers and Penalty Area stakes are movable obstructions and can be moved at any time.

Aeration Holes

Repair of Aeration holes allowed on green by Player.

If a player’s ball lies in or touches an aeration hole:

(a) Ball in General Area. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. If the ball comes to rest in another aeration hole the player may take relief again under this Local Rule.

(b) Ball on Putting Green. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1d.

French Drains – A player may take relief from all French drains whether gravel is visible or not (ie all bare areas in fairways where a drain clearly exists under the turf)

Distance measuring only devices are allowed (laser, gps, phones, etc.)

WSGC has NOT implemented the Modified Local Rules E-5 Alternative to Stroke and Distance for Lost Ball or Ball Out of Bounds.
