Please read all information carefully before calling the IGA office.

 

We are looking forward to a great 115th Iowa Amateur Championship! We hope that all of you enjoy The Cedar Rapids Country Club and we are certain that you will find it to be an excellent test of golf (and in terrific condition!). Please review this information before calling or emailing with any questions.  We want to thank all of you in advance for cooperating with us in making this a first class Championship.

SCHEDULE: CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS – 54 Holes Stroke Play

Cedar Rapids Country Club – Cedar Rapids, IA

Monday, July 24 – First Round, 18 holes

Tuesday, July 25 – Second Round, 18 holes

36 HOLE CUT -- The field will be cut to the low 60 individuals & ties after 36 holes.

Wednesday, July 26 – Final Round, 18 holes

 

LOCKER/CART/DINNER REGISTRATION: See the attached spreadsheet, which shows the options you picked during your registration for the various topics.  If you would like to change any of these – such as, you didn’t want a locker before but now you do – please notify us ASAP by sending an email to nate@iowagolf.org.  Note: see more info about Lockers, carts, caddies and dinner/reception below.

 

COURSE SETUP: Attached you will find a most likely course setup sheet for the championship.  You may want to print this or save it to your phone for use during your practice round.  This is unofficial and subject to change based on course conditions, weather, etc.

 

PRACTICE PRIVILEGES:  Players need to call the CRCC Golf Shop (319-362-4878) in advance to set up a practice round.  We encourage players to play during a block of times on Sunday afternoon, July 23rd, beginning after noon.  CRCC has generously offered one free practice round to the contestants.  Any subsequent practice round fees will be $55.  If you wish to take a cart for your practice round, the fee is $21.

 

LOCKER REQUESTS: CRCC has graciously offered to provide the players with a locker in the men’s locker room during the championship.  If you haven’t already requested a locker but would like to do so, please send a note to nate@iowagolf.org.  PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE SHOES, SOCKS, SHIRTS, ETC IN THE PARKING LOT!!!  Please utilize the locker room facilities for those things.

 

 

NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL: If you find that you will not be able to play in the Championship please notify the IGA office as soon as possible.  You can also call or text me (515-991-5768), or email cpitts@iowagolf.org as email will reach my phone as well. 

WAITING LIST - We have a waiting list so prompt notice will let us get in touch with a replacement as quickly as possible.

 

REGISTRATION at CRCC: There will be a registration table at the club from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 23rd and from 6:45 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 24th.  Please check in during these times to pick up your player packet and final information on the Championship.

 

GOLF CARTS:
The cart fee for all practice and championship rounds will be $21 per seat, plus tax. Carts are not required. Spectator carts are allowed only for handicap or disabled individuals and then only if there is supply. There will be a strict limitation of a maximum of two golf carts per group and two people per cart!! Caddies and guests are not guaranteed to ride! Pull/Push carts are permitted.

 

CADDIES:

-There are a limited number of caddies available at CRCC. The fee for a caddie from CRCC is $50 per round, plus any tips.  If you wish to reserve a caddie from the club, please call CRCC golf shop at 319-362-4878. 

-Contestants may bring their own caddie and the caddie is subject to all the regulations of the Championship including dress code requirements.

-PLEASE NOTE: The Rules of Golf permit a player to receive assistance from only one person at a time!  (Rule 6-4)  Players should caution friends, family and spectators that the only person allowed to assist them during play is the person designated as their caddie. A person driving a cart with the players clubs on it, for example, is assisting a player. Please be sure to avoid any confusion concerning who is performing the duties of a caddie for you during play.

 

special PLAYER’S RECEPTION on Monday, July 24th: The IGA and Cedar Rapids CC would like to invite all contestants to a reception for players and volunteers on Monday, July 24th beginning at approximately 6:00 p.m. The room location is being finalized and will be made known to you during the registration process.  There will be heavy appetizers, free beer and soda. Additional alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase. Normal golf attire is expected at the reception. 

 

PERSONAL APPEARANCE:  Proper golf attire is mandatory for players, caddies and spectators; the committee reserves the right to determine whether this requirement is met. Competitors may be required to change clothing in order to compete. Shorts are permitted, provided they are Bermuda length or longer.  Shirts without collars, gym shorts, sweat pants, nylon running pants and denim shorts or pants are not permitted. Please advise those who will be attending as guests and spectators that these requirements must be observed.
