SCGA Women’s Team Play is quickly becoming one of the Association’s most popular programs for our women members! Women’s Team Play consists of SCGA member clubs forming a team to compete in a league competition featuring home and away matches against other teams in their group, in both Gross & Net Four-Ball matches. Group winners advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket where the finalists ultimately compete in either the Gross or Net Divisions of the Women’s Team Play Championship.

Certification can be obtained by completing a WHS Certification Class and quiz (please visit scga.org for more information). Without WHS certification, the club will not be eligible to participate in the upcoming Team Play season. Clubs may submit up to two teams for Women’s Team Play.
DEFINITION OF A TEAM:
SCGA Women’s Team Play matches typically consist of 12 players competing on each team. However, should all team captains in a group agree, the entire group may play its regular season matches with fewer than 12 players (e.g., 8 players per team). This preference must be submitted to the SCGA before the start of the regular season, and all regular season matches must be played with the same number of players.
Upon reaching post-season play, all teams in SCGA Women’s Team Play must play with 12 players. There is no permanent roster nor limit to the number of players a team can have on their roster for the Regular Season.
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY:
Players must be 21 years of age or older as of the date of the match in which they participate. The maximum Handicap Index allowed in a match is 30.0. Individuals with a current Handicap Index greater than 30.0 may play but will be lowered to a Handicap Index of 30.0 for any match in which he/she participates. All players must be amateur golfers and listed on the club’s active GHIN roster at the time of the club’s first match of the season and at the time of the match being played.
Each player must have 10 scores posted to their GHIN scoring file by December 31, 2024, representing rounds of golf played in the year 2024. It is the responsibility of the Women’s Team Play captains to ensure all players on their roster meet this requirement.
GROUP SELECTION: The SCGA encourages clubs to form their groups for the regular season. If a club is not part of a group, they may complete the Find a Group Form, which will be available for any teams looking to join a group, or for any groups looking to add teams. The SCGA will not guarantee that a club submitting an entry form or completing the Find a Group form, without being part of a group, will be able to participate in Team Play. A minimum of three teams is required per group to participate in SCGA Team Play. create or fill any groups, all group creation is handled by the teams participating in the group. Captains will receive an email from the SCGA asking for their schedule later.
