U.S. Girls' Junior Qualifier in Utah

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Practice rounds may be scheduled by emailing Lynsey Myers (lynsey.myers@slcgov.com). Players should be aware that the course tee sheet opens to the public 7 days in advance. If players have a specific date/time that they would like to play a practice round, they are advised to email and book that time before the tee sheet opens to the public. Players are responsible for all practice round fees.

 

DRESS CODE

Players and their caddies must abide by the dress code of the host facility. The UGA encourages appropriate golf attire.  Each player is responsible to know the dress code and is subject to review by the tournament committee.  

 

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES

In local and final qualifying, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (eg. elevation changes, wind speed etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 4-3.

 

CLUBS: GROOVES

In Local and Sectional qualifying and in the Championship proper, the player's clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in The Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010.  PENALTY FOR MAKING STROKE WITH CLUB IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Disqualification.

 

CADDIES 

Qualifying Rounds - A player may provide his own caddie. If she wishes to have the host club furnish a caddie, she should ask the Official in Charge because sufficient caddies may not be available at the host club.

Championship proper - A player may provide his own caddie. If she wishes to have a caddie provided to her by the host club, he must complete the information as outlined in the Memorandum to Players. A player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship.  EXCEPTION: A player may not use a parent, step parent, or guardian as a caddie during Qualifying or the Championship proper. PENALTY: See Model Local Rule H-1.2 in Section 8 of the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf. A player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship.

 

FOOTWEAR

It is a condition at all qualifying sites unless otherwise indicated by an asterisk on this entry application that shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty for breach of this condition: DISQUALIFICATION

 

TRANSPORTATION

The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect, except at certain Qualifying sites as indicated on this entry application where the caddie only is permitted to use motorized transportation. Model Local Rule G-6.

 

GOLF BALLS; DRIVER HEADS

Only brands of golf balls on the most current USGA List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current USGA List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300.
