TOURNAMENT TERMS

 

1. A competitor must be an amateur as defined by the current Rules of Amateur Status.

 

2. The Championship shall comprise of 72 holes of stroke play, which will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as

    approved by R&A Rules Ltd and with the Local Rules approved by the Organising Committee.

 

3. Entry will be limited to 144 competitors who will play 18 holes over the Jubilee Course on Friday 6 June and the Old

    Course on Saturday 7 June. The 40 lowest scores over these 36 holes, and any tying for 40th place, will qualify for the

    final 36 holes to be played over the Old Course on Sunday 8 June. The remainder will be eliminated.

 

4. In the event of a tie after four rounds, the winner will be decided by a sudden death play-off over holes 1 and 18. Ties for

    other places (including the Ian Forbes Trophy) will be decided on the lowest score for the last 18 holes or the last 9,  or 6

    (holes 13-18), or 3 (holes 16-18) or 1 (hole 18). In the event of there still being a tie, the scores on the first 9 or 6 (holes 4

    9), or 3 (holes 7-9), or 1 (hole 9) will be considered. Subsequently, if still tied,  this will be resolved by commencing at hole

    1 onwards in hole by hole matchplay until a tie is resolved. If still tied, the scores for the 3rd round will be treated in the

    same way, followed by round 2 and round 1, until a decision in reached.

 

5. Clubs and Balls:  The Model Local Rules in the Rules of Golf are in effect regarding Conforming Driver Heads,

    Conforming Golf Balls and Groove and Punch Marks.  

 

6. Pace of Play: Conditions will be available within the player information section of the Tournament portal.

 

7. Anti-Doping: A competitor must not knowingly make use of any drug to enhance his performance. A competitor must, if

    requested, submit to a random drug test. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

 

8. Transportation: During a round, a player or caddie must not ride on any form of motorised transportation except as

    authorised or later approved by the Committee.  

 

9. Distance measurement devices: Distance measurement devices will be permitted (only measuring distance).

 

10. The Committee reserves the right to disqualify any competitor making a false statement on his entry form or to refuse

       or reject any entry without giving reason for its decision.

12. The Competitor shall start at the time laid down by the Committee.

 

13. The Committee reserves the right to fix and/or alter starting times and to alter or amend any of the conditions. In the

       event of play being delayed, any changes to the Tournament will be at the discretion of the Committee.

 

14. The Committee’s decision in all disputes is final.
