DIRECT DEPOSIT FOR PURSE PAYOUTS
- The PGA of Ontario is transitioning to direct deposit for ALL tournament payouts.
- If you have not yet signed up for direct deposit for your tournament winnings, please email Kristine Schmidt at kristine@pgaofontario.com or call the office at 905-887-6060 Ext. 223.
- If you have registered for direct deposit with the PGA of Ontario and have recently changed your banking details or mailing address this also applies to you.
CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
- Cancellation/Refund Policy – No refund will be provided after the tournament/event tee sheet has been released to the players and/or posted on the PGA of Ontario website. Please note this means that regardless of the circumstance, a refund cannot be provided once a player commences play.
- A refund may be provided in the following circumstances:
- A full refund will be provided if a player withdraws from the event due to medical reasons no later than 10:00 am on the Friday before the event. The refund will be issued once the PGA of Ontario office receives a doctor’s note.
- A full or partial refund will be provided due to extenuating circumstances, at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. The PGA of Ontario Tournament Committee will review all submitted supporting documents to provide a fair and equitable resolution in a timely manner.
- A full refund will be provided if the cancelling player/team finds an eligible* PGA of Ontario member/team to take their place.
- It is the cancelling player’s/team’s responsibility to find an eligible* PGA of Ontario member/team to replace them and notify the PGA of Ontario office no later than 24 hours before the event starts.
- The cancelling player’s/team’s refund will be processed once the replacement player/team has paid their entry fee in full.
- If the cancelling player’s spot is NOT filled 24 hours prior to the event’s start time, a refund will not be issued.

PGA OF ONTARIO PACE OF PLAY POLICY
This policy is in direct response to your feedback, aiming to streamline our events and keep them on schedule. All participants of stroke play events will be responsible for adhering to this policy, which includes associated penalties for delayed play.
By implementing these changes, we aim to enhance the overall experience at our professional events and reaffirm our dedication to member satisfaction. We understand this process may be unfamiliar, but we will now all be accountable as we strive for improvement. Let's work collectively to make our tournaments smoother and more enjoyable for everyone involved.

CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE

CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD
- The 2025 Championship field will be comprised of a maximum of 120 players, inclusive of one exemption spot for the defending champion. Entries will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
FORMAT
- 36-hole stroke play without a cut
YARDAGES
- The PGA of Ontario Assistants’ Championship will be contested from a maximum of 6,900 yard
- A woman can enter the Assistants' Championship and play at 75-85% of the total yardage.
PLAYOFFS
- A tie for the Championship will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. Any competitor involved in a playoff and not immediately available assumes the last playoff position. Multiple no-shows for playoffs shall be decided by lot.
PRIZE MONEY – TIES
- In the event of ties, prize money will be divided equally among those tied, except that if a competitor wins a playoff for the Championship, that player will receive first-place prize money.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
- Please contact Billy Simkin or Connor Jolliffee before booking at (905)788-1676 number for special rates and times. Otherwise, rounds will be the posted rate at the time.
DRIVING RANGE
- The range on the property will be open and balls will be stacked.
CARTS AND ON-COURSE EQUIPMENT
- Competitors may walk or make arrangements with the host club for the use of a motorized golf cart. Players must adhere to the host facility cart rules.
- Players can purchase power carts in the shop for $20 plus HST.
- Pull carts are complimentary.
WATER ON-COURSE
- There are no water stations on-course, please come prepared.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
- Food and beverage will not be offered as part of the event
CHECK-IN WITH TOURNAMENT CONVENOR
- Players are to check in at the 1st tee no less than 5 minutes before their tee time.
CADDIES
- Caddies are welcome.
SPECTATORS
- Spectators are welcome. Spectators MUST walk.
DRESS CODE
- Competitors must adhere to the PGA of Ontario Dress Code which is also available in the competitor registration package.
- **Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times. Open-toed footwear, (sandals of any type/flip flop style footwear) will not be permitted into host venue Clubhouses before or upon completion of any Ontario Zone sanctioned round.
MEASURING DEVICES
- A player may obtain distance information by using a device that: MEASURES DISTANCE ONLY
- However, if a distance measuring device has additional functionality that can gauge or measure other conditions that might affect a player’s play (e.g. elevation change, wind speed, etc.), the use of any such additional function would be a breach of Rule 4.3a.

- List of Conforming Driver Heads: Model Local Rule G-1 is in effect.
Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
- Groove and Punch Mark Specifications: Model Local Rule G-2 is in effect.
Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
- List of Conforming Golf Balls: Model Local Rule G-3 is in effect.
Penalty for making a stroke with a ball in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
- Replacing Club that is Broken or Significantly Damaged – Model Local Rule G-9 is in effect.

ELECTRONIC AUDIO OR VIDEO DEVICES
- During a round, a player must not listen to or watch content of any nature on a personal audio or video device. Rule 4.3
- Penalty for Breach of Rule 4.3
- Penalty for first breach from single act or related acts: Two Strokes
- Penalty for second breach unrelated to first breach: Disqualification
TRAVEL
- The PGA of Ontario assumes no responsibility for entrants' travel arrangements. The PGA of Ontario advises entrants not to book travel or room arrangements before confirmation of tournament acceptance unless those arrangements can be cancelled without penalty.
TIME OF STARTING
- All players in a group must be present and READY TO PLAY at the time laid down by the Committee. The order of play is not relevant. READY TO PLAY is defined as being on or near the player's first tee accompanied with the necessary equipment needed to put a ball in play. Notification by a PGA of Ontario Rules Official will be given to late starters on the first tee or as soon as practicable.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG POLICY
Stroke Play Event Alcohol Policy
- The consumption of alcohol before or during any PGA of Ontario stroke play event or Playing Ability Test is strictly prohibited. Violation of this policy is considered conduct unbecoming of a Member of the PGA of Ontario, and swift penalty will be issued by the Tournament Captain and PGA of Ontario office.
Team Event Alcohol Policy
- The PGA of Ontario will allow the purchase of alcohol from the host facility during team events only. This policy will be reviewed following each event and if any issues arise (including, but not limited to, professional conduct, alcohol abuse, or liability), this policy will be revoked immediately. Penalties will be issued based on any Professional violating Liquor Laws, our Tournament Policy and/or the PGA Code of Professional Conduct and Safe Sport Policy.
- The PGA of Ontario will abide by each facility's drug policy.
ANTI-DOPING POLICY
- The PGA of Ontario has adopted the Canadian Anti-Doping Program set by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. For further information please visit www.cces.ca.
