River Pig Derby

(Horserace)

Wednesday, June 18th

6pm Hosted Drinks and Hors d' oeruvres w/ spouses

7pm Start

Format: 2 Man Alternate Shot

For the River Pig Derby everyone will mark their team number on a golf ball deemed by the committee. Of the two man teams one player will elect to tee off first. After each team has teed off the partners play an alternate shot until the ball is holed. The furthest team away plays first until the green is reached. Once on the green the team closest to the hole putts first until the ball is holed. Partners will alternate holes in which they tee off.

We will have Three Derby horseraces and the teams in each horse race will be determined by Handicap (70% of the low and 30% of the high).

In-case of a tie: In the instance of a tie, to determine the team to be eliminated a chip off will take place. In the Chip off, which ever player in the alternate shot rotation is up, he will compete against his competitor. One player will turn his back to the hole while the first player chips. The first player’s ball is marked and the second player then chips. The closest ball to the hole wins and that team continues on.

(Handicap): Handicap calculated by taking 80% of the averaged team handicap and multiplying that by 1/3. The golf shop staff will rate all 3 holes in order of easiest to toughest. Team handicap strokes then fall where they lie.

Scoring: A member of the golf shop will be tracking scores for the Horse Race.
