PLAYER INFORMATION

 

SITE - Atlanta Country Club

 

DATE - June 12-15, 2025

 

FIELD SIZE - 144 players

 

FORMAT - 72 holes of individual stroke play. After 36 holes of play, the field will be cut to the low 60 players and ties.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS - One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below two weeks prior to the competition. Practice round fee is $50. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted.  Players are allowed one official practice round at the $50 rate.

  • Registration for practice rounds on Wednesday, June 11 will take place through Golf Genius beginning on June 3 at 12:00 p.m.  An email invitation from Golf Genius will be sent on June 3 prior to registration opening.
  • For players wanting to play their practice round prior to Wednesday, June 11, please contact the club directly to schedule.

 

YARDAGES & TEES - A practice yardage sheet is available on the event portal under the PLAYER INFORMATION section. Practice yardage sheets will also be available at the club. Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.  Yardage books (Not Strackaline) will be provided to players at registration or upon check-in at your practice round.  You may still purchase a Strackaline book using the link under PLAYER INFORMATION.

 

PLAYER HOSPITALITY - A Championship Welcome Party will be held on Wednesday, June 11 from approximately 6:30-8:30 p.m. All players are welcome and may bring one guest at no additional charge.  For any additional guests please contact GSGA in advance.  This event will be held at Atlanta Country Club. Locker room facilities with showers will be available.  Dress code for this event is come as you are (golf attire, club casual, no t-shirts or jeans please). Dinner and drinks will be provided. A brief program will begin around 7:15 p.m. with special guest speaker, Georgia and World Golf Hall of Famer and 3-time major champion, Larry Nelson.  All players are encouraged to attend.

 

 

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE - The golf shop and practice facilities will open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. each day of the competition.   Callway will be coordinating a premium range ball experience throughout the championship.  Players will have the option of choosing their Callway model practice balls.  TaylorMade practice balls provided by Atlanta Country Club will also be available.

 

Club PT will be on-site Thursday-Sunday at the practice facilities to provide services to players throughout the championship.

 

STARTING TIMES - Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on June 5th.  Pairings will be communicated via email and text message from Golf Genius.

 

REGISTRATION - Formal registration will be held on Wednesday, June 11 from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 12th from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. If you are not able to register in person during this time, please GSGA to confirm you will be playing in round one on Thursday. 

 

CARTS - Practice round fee is $50 plus tax. Credit cards will be accepted. This is a walking only Championship.  Provisions are in place should GSGA and the Committee deem carts are necessary due to severe heat or the potential for severe weather on any individual day or throughout the entire Championship. Players with medical needs may request a golf cart by submitting an application to GSGA for use of a golf cart during the competition.  Information available on the Championship portal PLAYER INFORMATION section.  Push/pull carts are NOT PERMITTED this year at the Championship.

 

SPECTATOR CARTS - Spectator carts are permitted to be rented for those individuals that have valid ADA certification that can be presented on-site. Spectator carts are extremely limited, cannot be guarantted and may not be available should carts be needed for players in case of severe heat or severe weather circumstances.  Interested parties should contact GSGA (Jeff Fages, Sr. Director, Rules & Competitions - 678-324-5969 or JFAGES@GSGA.ORG) in advance of the Championship to inquire about spectator carts.

 

CADDIES - Caddies are permitted. Players may provide their own caddie. Push/pull carts are NOT PERMITTED.  The club has members interested in serving as caddies.  Contact Scott Schroeder, Head Golf Professional at Atlanta Country Club if interested.  

 

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY - The GSGA Rules of Play, Pace of Play and Spectator Cart Policy shall be in effect. Click here to view policies.

 

DRESS CODE - Proper golf attire must be worn in all phases of this Championship. No tank tops, tee shirts, or blue jeans will be allowed. Competitors must be neat in respect to personal grooming and clothing. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Shirts must have collars.

 

FOOD SERVICE - Food service will be available throughout the Championship.  A complimentary full breakfast buffet will be provided each day for players and caddies courtesy of Atlanta Country Club.  A complimentary lunch buffet will be provided for players and caddies courtesy of GSGA throughout the Championship Wednesday-Sunday.  Credit cards are accepted for miscellaneous food and beverage purchases throughout the Championship in the clubhouse.  CASH ONLY is accepted at the Halfway House.  Spectators may purchase F&B from the player breakfast/lunch options or a la carte from the Halfway House.

 

PRIZES - Gift certificates will be awarded to the low 20 finishers.

The champion will have their name engraved on the Robert H. Martin trophy.  The champion will receive a take home trophy.

Additional playing exemptions and invitations will be presented to the winner including exemptions into the 2025 U.S. Amateur Championship, 2026 Jones Cup Invitational and an exemption through Local Qualifying for the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship.  The remainder of the top 5 finishers and ties will receive an exemption into 2026 U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying.

A custom Callaway putter will be awarded to the low round during rounds 3 & 4.

REFUND POLICY - A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
