AGES/ELIGIBILITY

 Open to male amateur golfers under the age of 19 and with a handicap index of 12.0 or lower; a competitor must and not be 19 as of July 9, 2025.

CHAMPIONSHIP FEE

Player’s advancing to the Championship through qualifying will be responsible for a $175.00 Championship fee.  This fee will be charged to the player upon being transferred to the Championship proper in the online registration system after your qualifying round has concluded.  Exempt players have no additional championship fees aside from the practice round.

144 players

FORMAT

54 holes of stroke play; field cut to the low 60 and ties after 36 holes.

PRACTICE ROUND

One practice round per player.  Practice yardage sheets will be provided to the host club and on the event portal.  Players will pay the $40 walking practice round fee when checking in to the club.  Credit cards are the only acceptable method of payment.  Practice rounds will be available at the prior to the Championship at the times listed below. Call Valdosta CC to schedule your practice round.

  • The club is closed on Mondays
  • Tuesdays - Thursdays, any time, based on availability.
  • Fridays - Saturdays: any time after 1:00pm, based on availability.
  • Sundays: Before 11:ooam and after 2:00pm, based on availability.
  • No spectator carts will be allowed during practice rounds.

The GSGA tee markers will be utilized for the championship.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition. A complete practice yardage sheet will be provided for players playing practice rounds.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open at 6:30 a.m. on the day of the qualifier.  The driving range will close at 6:00pm each day.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on July 1. 

REGISTRATION

Formal registration will be held on site. Player withdraws must be called or e-mailed to the GSGA office so that an alternate may be contacted.

CADDIES

All players must walk and carry their own bag or may use a pull cart. Caddies are specifically prohibited.  Pull carts are permitted.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

The GSGA Rules of Play, Pace of Play and Spectator Cart Policy for Junior Competitions shall be in effect. Click here to view policies.

Spectators may rent a seat on a cart during the competition rounds at a cost of $25 per cart seat. The number of carts allowed for rental to spectators will be limited to two carts per group and no more than two people will be allowed per cart. The overall number of spectator carts rented is subject to change based on availability.  Only credit cards will be accepted.

DRESS CODE

Proper golf attire must be worn in all phases of this Championship. No tank tops, tee shirts, or blue jeans will be allowed. Competitors must be neat in respect to personal grooming and clothing. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Shirts must have collars.

FOOD SERVICE

Food service will be available from 10:00am - 4:00pm each day of the championship in Robert's Lounge. Only credit cards will be accepted.  Drinks will be available for purchase in Robert's Lounge starting at 7:00am each day.  Bottled water will be available for players at multiple points on the course.

PLAYER HOSPITALITY

There will be no formal player hospitality functions during the Championship.  Food and beverage purchases are available for players and spectators in Robert's Lounge throughout the event.  

GA/SC JUNIOR CHALLENGE MATCH

The top eight finishers in the Georgia Junior Championship will qualify to participate in the Georgia-South Carolina Junior Challenge Match on August 2-3 at Florence CC in Florence, SC. The 9th and 10th place finishers will be 1st and 2nd alternates. Details will be distributed at the conclusion of the championship.

REFUND POLICY

A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
