The Wee Wonders Open Golf Championships was founded in 1995 in Scotland by Alasdair Good, Head PGA Professional at Gullane Golf Club.  It rapidly grew to become the only tournament with fully national coverage for children in the age range 5 to 12.  It provides an opportunity for entry into competitive golf both for children new to the game and for the most experienced young players.  In 2016, there were 46 Regional Qualifiers held over 9 holes in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales leading to the Grand Final in St Andrews, the ‘Home of Golf’.

We are expanding to 54 Regional Qualifiers, 9 Regional Finals and Grand Final.

This years Grand Final will be held once again at St Andrews, the ‘Home of Golf’ on 26 and 27  August 2017.  Qualifying dates for 2017 are now available.  Please sign up for our mailing list to receive an email with the complete list and commencement date for registration. To find out more about format etc, please read our Rules & Conditions.

“Wee Wonders is now firmly established as one of the leading competitions of its type in the world.  It offers talented young boys and girls the opportunity to compete and thrive in a series of well organised events.  Players who participate in Wee Wonders will receive the grounding they need to go far in golf.” Duncan Weir, Director of Golf Development at The R&A.

“The standard of golf is absolutely phenomenal and the good thing

is that the kids have got really great attitudes and they learn really

great lessons from the tournament.”

Nick Dougherty, former Wee Wonders Ambassador.
