INFORMATION SHEET

 

NO PRACTICE ROUNDS 

 

GENERAL

Practice facilities open at 7:00AM. No Driving Range. Hitting cage available.

 

Pro Shop opens at 7:30AM. Michael Rapisarda, PGA Golf Professional – (914) 835-1354    

                                    

Parents/Spectators MUST sign in at registration table and wear an identification badge throughout the tournament.

 

Distance-Measuring Devices are allowed.  Electronic communication devices MUST be turned off.

 

Proper golf attire must be worn at all WMGA events. No denim of any color, leggings, tank tops, warm-up suits, or sweat pants will be permitted. Under no circumstances will short shorts or low cut shirts be allowed. Skorts and shorts must be no more than 5” above the knee.

            

TROPHY TOURNAMENT FORMAT

18 holes of stroke play. Full Course Handicap. Pairings made by the Committee. Trophy awarded to the low gross winner. Ties for the trophy will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff beginning on the first hole. Any player not present for the playoff must forfeit. Ties for other gross and net prizes will be decided by matching cards. All players without a handicap index cannot participate in the net tournament.

 

9-HOLE EVENT FORMAT

9 holes of stroke play. Pairings made by the Committee. Prizes awarded for low gross. Ties will be decided by matching cards.

 

TEE MARKERS

18 Hole division: RED Tees. Yardage: 5,224

9 Hole division: Forward Tees (Red Tees).  Yardage: 5,224

Yardage is calculated to the center of the green.

 

TRANSPORTATION

All players MUST walk the stipulated round and carry their own golf clubs. Pull carts ARE permitted.The WMGA and Rye Golf Club WILL NOT provide players with their own pull/push cart.Caddies are NOT permitted and spectators MUST walk.

 

FOOD SERVICE

Continental breakfast beginning at 7:00AM. A buffet lunch will be served starting at 11:30AM.  Parents may purchase lunch (cash only).

 

STARTING TIMES

Rule 6-3a. Time of Starting:“6-3a is amended to provide that the penalty for starting late, but within five minutes of the starting time, is reduced from disqualification to loss of the first hole in match play or two strokes at the first hole in stroke play.  Previously this penalty reduction could be introduced as a condition of competition.”
