2025 MGA Senior Women's Match Play Championship

FORMAT
- There will be an 18-hole stroke play qualifying on Day 1 to determine flights. Match Play will proceed after qualifying.
- Flights will be determined based on scores from the stroke play qualifying. The Championship Flight will be comprised of 8 players; while the remaining flights will be only four, with as many flights as necessary to accommodate all players.
- A player will be seeded within the flight based on their score from the stroke play qualifying. The defending champion will receive the #1 seed in the championship flight.
- In the event of a tie for the final position within a flight, a scorecard playoff will be used following the recommended procedure of the USGA found in the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf.
- The last flight or two may be played at Net (using handicaps) based on the difference in handicap indices of the players within the flight.
- All players will play at least two rounds (stroke play qualifying plus a match within their flight).
- There will NOT be a consolation bracket.
- This is an Official WAGR counting event.

ENTRY FEE
- $150 (walking)
- $190 (riding, includes $40 cart fee for two days. Players advancing to Day 3 will need to pay for their cart in the Golf Shop prior to play).
- The use of a golf cart is permitted for this event. Carts may be prepaid online at the time of registration or on-site each day of the tournament.
REGISTRATION
- Registration will open on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.
- Deadline is Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
- Entries are open to the first 47 players to enter, plus the defending champion (Linda Goodno)
- After entries are filled, a waitlist will be established.
ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to any female amateur golfer:
(1) Who is an MGA Associate Member,
(2) Who is at least 50 years old as of the first day of the Championship,
(3) Whose Minnesota Handicap Index® is active at the time of entry, and
(4) Whose Minnesota Handicap Index® is active effective the first day of the Championship.
- An entry may be rejected at the discretion of the Committee at any time, including after the competition has closed.
NOTE: For eligibility purposes, an MGA Associate Member through the MGA Join On-Line (JOL) program must have a Minnesota connection in addition to JOL membership to participate. Examples of connections would be a MN resident (permanent or seasonal), a non-resident student at a MN school, and/or a MGA course connection, validated by a course employee and/or score posting record. The Committee's decision on such a connection and eligibility is final.
ANTICIPATED STARTING TIMES
- Day 1: Stroke-play qualifying (all players); Starting times begin at 8:30 a.m.
- Day 2: Round of 8 (championship flight) and Semifinals (other flights); Starting times begin at 8:30 a.m.
- Day 3: Semifinals (championship flight) and Championships (other flights); Tees times from 12:10-12:50 p.m.
- Day 4: Championship (championship flight); Starting time begins at 8:30 a.m.

RULES AND INFORMATION
- The Rules of Golf, the MGA Terms of Competition (MGA Hard Card), and all Local Rules established specifically for the Championship will be in effect. Local Rules for this event will be available under the Course Details tab.
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES
- Players are permitted to use distance-measuring devices that measure distance only.
- The slope function must be disabled.
PACE OF PLAY / PLAYER CONDUCT / DRESS CODE
- Please refer to Resources tab for Pace of Play, Player Conduct and Dress Code policies.
CADDIE POLICY
- Players may use a Caddie unless prohibited or restricted by a Local Rule.
- A player is responsible for the behavior and attire of their caddie.
DIGITAL SCORING
- Scoring will be done by use of the Golf Genius App. Players should have the app downloaded on their phones and be prepared to keep score. The player GGID will be sent via text and email to all players the night before each round using the cell phone number and email in their profile.
LODGING ARRANGEMENTS
- Details regarding tournament hotel are in the works and will be posted here once confirmed.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
- Practice rounds will be available at the players' expense.
- Please call the Elk River Golf Club (763) 441-4111 and identify yourself as a MGA Women's Senior Match Play contestant to schedule a practice round.
- The fee may be dependent upon the day and time you play.

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS
- To withdraw for any reason before the deadline of an MGA competition, a player may withdraw through Golf Genius or by notifying the MGA in writing.
- To withdraw for any reason after the deadline but before the start of competition, a player must notify the MGA in writing.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancelation on or before the entry closing date: Full refund.
- Cancelation after the entry closing date and up to ONE (1) day before the first day of your competition: Full refund less a $25 administrative fee.
- Cancelation on the day of the competition or later: No refund.
