Local Rules and Information Sheet
TEE MARKERS: USGA FORMAT: 18-holes, stroke play
QUALIFIERS: 5 ALTERNATES: 2
TIES & PLAYOFFS: In the event of a tie for the final qualifying spot and/or any alternate position, a hole-by-hole playoff will be conducted immediately following play.
EVACUATION PLAN: In the event play is suspended for a dangerous situation (lightning), players are to return to the Clubhouse. The signal for a suspension due to a dangerous situation is two (2) prolonged horn blasts.
Rules are governed by the Rules of Golf, USGA Terms of Competition, Notice to Competitors,
Memo to Players and the following local rules. Disregard all local rules printed on the local card.
DRINKING WATER & REST AREAS:
Drinking Water: May be found at or near the teeing areas of Holes #4, 5, 8, 12, 14 & 16 as well as at the Clubhouse.
Rest Areas: May be found at or near the teeing areas of Holes #4, 5 & 14 as well as at the Clubhouse.
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES: Per the USGA Terms of Competition, distance measuring devices ARE permitted. However, information gained from their use must be limited to DISTANCE ONLY.
PACE OF PLAY/UNREASONABLE DELAY (RULE 5.6): Players are expected to play without delay, and groups are expected to remain in position with the group immediately in front of it. Timing sheets showing the time by when each hole must be completed are posted on the Qualifying webpage. Groups who fall out of position will be WARNED (First breach) and are subject to monitoring and timing by a Rules official. Players are expected to play a stroke within 40 seconds from when it is their time to play. Players who receive a bad time after being warned will receive One penalty stroke. Players who receive a second bad time will receive Two penalty strokes. The expected pace of play is 4:34 for 18 holes. Penalty for Breach of Rule 5.6a: First breach: Group Warning; Second breach: One penalty stroke; Third breach: Two penalty strokes; Fourth breach: DISQUALIFICATION.
GROUND UNDER REPAIR: Areas circled by white lines.
OUT OF BOUNDS: In addition to white stakes, boundaries are defined by white lines on the left side of Holes #5 & 13 and the inside edge of pavement of Highway 6 on Hole #9.
PENALTY AREAS: When both are present, stakes identify and lines define a Penalty Area.
PROVISIONAL BALL – HOLE #11: In order to help speed up play, a player is permitted to play a provisional ball (Rule 18.3) on Hole #11 for a ball that might be in the red penalty area on the left. He may use any of the options to play the provisional. Please follow the relevant procedure when continuing:
- If the original ball is found outside the penalty area, player must continue with the original ball.
- If the original ball is found in the penalty area, player may continue with the original ball as it lies or continue with the provisional ball. (Player may not take relief with the original ball.)
- If the original ball is not found, player must continue with the provisional ball.
