Information and Local Rules

 

INFORMATION

 

TEES: All competitors will play from the MGA tee markers.

 

FORMAT: 54 holes, stroke play (The event may be shortened due to extenuating circumstances.). 

 

EVACUATION PLAN: In the event play is suspended for a dangerous situation (lightning), players are to return to the Clubhouse.  The signal for a suspension due to a dangerous situation is two (2) prolonged horn blasts.

 

CUT & STARTING TIMES FOR WEDNESDAY: Per the Notice to Competitors, the top 60 players plus ties after 36 holes will advance to the final round on Thursday. The leaders will go at 9:30 am off #1 tee, with the highest scoring players who make the cut going at 9:30 am off #10 tee.  The approximate time for the first groups will be 8:00a, depending upon how many players make the cut.  Players will be notified of starting time, hole and GGID by email and text after the times are posted Wednesday night.

 

POSTING OF SCORES: The MGA will be posting scores to GHIN for handicap purposes.

 

RULES OF PLAY

 

All play is governed by the Rules of Golf, the MGA Rules Card, Notice to Competitors and the following Local Rules. NOTE: Disregard all Local Rules printed on the local scorecard. If you need an official and one is not immediately available, you may play a second ball under Rule 20.  You should announce in advance which ball you wish to count for your score if the Rules allow.

 

GROUND UNDER REPAIR: In addition to areas circled by white lines, the following areas are considered ground under repair:

  1. All cultivated flower & shrubbery beds – No Play Zones

 

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: All cart paths, whether artificially surfaced or not, and including worn areas tied into the path. The 150-yard poles are moveable obstructions.

 

OUT OF BOUNDS: Boundaries are defined by fences, white stakes and lines, and the course-side edge of the concrete curb on Hole #10.

 

PENALTY AREAS: All penalty areas are RED. When stakes and lines are used to mark a penalty area, the stakes identify while the lines define the edge. On Hole #2, a DROPPING ZONE has been provided as an additional option for a ball in the Penalty Area short and right of the green.

 

PACE OF PLAY: The MGA Pace of Play policy is in effect during the Championship.  Please maintain your position on the course at all times.  The expected pace of play is 4:30 for 18 holes.
