FORMAT

Team:
36-hole, Team NET stroke play with Stableford scoring as follows:
A team of four will be divided into two squads of two players each.  Each squad will play Net Four-Ball stroke play with Stableford scoring.  The scores from each squad will be combined for the Team score. 

Individual:
36-hole, NET stroke play with Stableford scoring

A tie for first place for the Net Team, Net Individual, and Women's Net Individual will be broken by a scorecard playoff as recommended by USGA policy.

There is no limit to a player's Handicap Index® minimum or maximum in effect; however, the lowest Handicap Index® of the past twelve (12) months will be used to calculate the Course Handicap®.  The player's Playing Handicap® will be 75% of the Course Handicap® and will not exceed 25.

 

ENTRY FEE

Net Team Entry:  $1,200/team (includes $200/team for carts both days)
Net Amateur Entry:  $300/individual (includes $50/player for cart both days)
These are riding only events.

NOTE: The Net Amateur option is available for people who wish to enter only the Net Amateur or the Women's Net Amateur Championships and not the Team event.

Net Amateur (Optional):  $25/person
A player participating in the Net Team Championship may elect to participate in the Men's/Women's Net Amateur for an additional entry fee.  The entry fee may be prepaid online at the time of registration or at any time prior to the first day of competition.  

 

REGISTRATION 

  • Registration will open on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.  
  • Deadline is August 19, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
  • Entries are open to the first 112 players to enter. 
  • After entries are filled, a waitlist will be established.

 

ELIGIBILITY

Entry is open to any amateur golfer:
(1) Who is an MGA Associate Member,
(2) Whose Minnesota Handicap Index® is active at the time of entry, and
(3) Whose Minnesota Handicap Index® is active effective on the first day of the Championship.

 

  • An entry may be rejected at the discretion of the Committee at any time, including after the competition has closed.

 

      NOTE: For eligibility purposes, an MGA Associate Member through the MGA Join On-Line (JOL) program must have a Minnesota connection in addition to JOL membership to participate. Examples of connections would be a MN resident (permanent or seasonal), a non-resident student at a MN school, and/or a MGA course connection, validated by a course employee and/or score posting record. The Committee's decision on such a connection and eligibility is final.   

 

ANTICIPATED STARTING TIMES

  • Tuesday, Sept 2, The Pines GC (Lakes/Woods) - Tee times begin at 11 am.

 

  • Wednesday, Sept 3, The Preserve GC - Tee times begin at 8:00 am

RULES AND INFORMATION

  • The Rules of Golf, the MGA Terms of Competition (MGA Hard Card), and all Local Rules established specifically for the Championship will be in effect. Local Rules for this event will be available under the Course Details tab.  

 

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES

  • Players are permitted to use distance-measuring devices that measure distance only. 
  • The slope function must be disabled.

 

PACE OF PLAY / PLAYER CONDUCT / DRESS CODE

  • Please refer to Resources tab for Pace of Play, Player Conduct and Dress Code policies.

 

CADDIE POLICY 

  • Players may use a Caddie unless prohibited or restricted by a Local Rule.
  • A player is responsible for the behavior and attire of their caddie.

 

DIGITAL SCORING

  • Scoring will be done by use of the Golf Genius App. Players should have the app downloaded on their phones and be prepared to keep score. The player GGID will be sent via text and email to all players the night before each round using the cell phone number and email in their profile. 

 

LODGING ARRANGEMENTS

  • Lodging has not been pre-arranged with Grand View Lodge.  All lodging is at the expense of the individuals playing in the event.  

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

  • Practice rounds will be available at the players' expense.
  • Please call The Pines Golf Shop (218) 963-8755 or The Preserve Golf Shop (218) 568-4944 and identify yourself as an MGA Net Championships contestant to schedule a practice round.
  • The fee may be dependent upon the day and time you play.

 

STRACKALINE BOOKS

  • The MGA and StrackaLine have teamed up to allow our participants to purchase StrackaLine Yardage & Greens books at a discounted price. Click HERE to order your book. All StrackaLine books conform to the Rules of Golf and may be used in tournament play.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS

  • To withdraw for any reason before the deadline of an MGA competition, a player may withdraw through Golf Genius or by notifying the MGA in writing. 
  • To withdraw for any reason after the deadline but before the start of the competition, a player must notify the MGA in writing.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation on or before the entry closing date: Full refund.
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and up to ONE (1) day before the first day of your competition: Full refund less a $25 administrative fee.
    • Cancelation on the day of the competition or later: No refund.

  • NOTE: In the event conditions will not permit the total completion of the competition, the Committee reserves the right to cut the field after the first round to the lowest 36 scoring players plus ties for play in the second round. No refunds will be given in the event this occurs.
