The following are matters pertinent to your participation in the 20th Metropolitan Open Championship on June 18-20, 2025 at Lake Forest Country Club:

 

The following supplements the Championship regulations in the 20th Metropolitan Open Championship Entry Application and is in addition to the Local Terms of Competition and Notice to Players (prepared by the Committee and will be issued at the participants starting hole):

  1. Practice: One (1) practice round is included with your entry into the Championship, and you must call the golf shop at (636) 561-2221 to schedule a time at the parameters below.  Players must choose ONE of the available times, multiple times are not permitted.  

Week Prior (June 10-15): Local Professionals and Amateurs are requested to schedule a time during this period.

Tuesday, June 17: Professionals from out of town traveling in to participate.  

Carts may be used during practice rounds at the players expense.  

 

  1. Golf Course Set-Up: Course Setup Memorandum is available at the following link on the Portal: Course Setup 

 

  1. Footwear: Model Local Rule G-7 as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect.

 

  1. Cut Procedure: The field will be cut following Round 2 to the low forty (40) scores and ties.  

 

  1. Prizes: Professionals will play for a cash purse.  As advertised, the low professional will win $25,000, the remainder of the cash disbursements will be at the discretion of the Championship Committee AND the full payout distribution will be published at the 1st Tee for the Final Round.  Professionals MUST make the cut to earn a cash prize for their finish and all professionals surviving the cut will receive a check.  Amateur making the cut will receive gift certificates to the Lake Forest Golf Shop.  

 

  1. Food & Beverage: Lake Forest CC will be available for dining during the championship and credit cards will be accepted.  

 

  1. Automotive Transportation:  Automotive Transportation is PROHIBITED.  Spectator carts will NOT be available. 

 

  1. Caddies: A participant may provide his own caddie or carry his own clubs.  Pull carts are allowed during the Championship.  Players NOT surviving the cut MAY caddie for another player in the Final Round. 

 

  1. Pace of Play: Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association Pace of Play Policy is available on the Portal at the following link: Pace of Play Policy
     

  2. Halfway House: The Halfway House located near next to the Golf Shop will be closed to participants during their stipulated round.  There will be an abundance of water on the golf course, and an oasis of beverages, fruit, etc. will be provided to Players and Caddies at their 10th Tee (1st or 10th depending on their staring hole).
