Information and Local Rules
INFORMATION
TEE MARKERS: All players in the Players’, Mid-Players’ and Senior Players’ Championship Qualifiers will play from the WHITE tee markers (approx. 6,405 yards). See the Course Set-Up, under Rules/Resources on the event portal.
FORMAT: Two 9-hole rounds, stroke play. The MGA reserves the right to shorten the qualifying to 9 holes if bad weather does not allow the full 18 holes to be completed. If this happens, results will be based on 9-hole scores with the available spots divided accordingly.
QUALIFIERS: Players’: 5 Alternates: 2
Mid-Players’: 3 Alternates: 2
Senior Players’: 3 Alternates: 2
TIES: In the event of a tie for the last qualifying spot and/or the alternate spots, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following play.
EVACUATION PLAN: In the event play is suspended for a dangerous situation (lightning), players are to return to the Clubhouse. The signal for a suspension due to a dangerous situation is two (2) prolonged air horn blasts.
MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION: Model Local Rule G-6. During a round, a player in the Players’ or Mid-Players’ Qualifier and their caddie must not ride on any form of motorized transportation except as authorized by the Committee. A player in the Senior Division only may ride in a golf cart. NOTE: A senior player attempting to qualify in the Players’ or Mid-Players’ Division must follow the cart rules for that division.
POSTING OF SCORES: The MGA will post scores to GHIN for handicap purposes.
REST AREAS: Are located at the 4th, 6th, and 15th tees and inside the clubhouse.
DRINKING WATER: Drinking water is available on #4, #6, and #15 tees.
ELECTRONIC SCORING: The official method of scoring will be digitally by use of the Golf Genius Mobile App. Paper scorecards will not be provided to players. After completing your final hole, all players, and their markers, should go to the Scoring Area immediately to certify their scores.
RULES OF PLAY
All play is governed by the Rules of Golf, the MGA Rules Card, Notice to Competitors and the following Local Rules. NOTE: Disregard all Local Rules printed on the local scorecard. If you need an official and one is not immediately available, you may play a second ball under Rule 20.1. You should announce in advance which ball you wish to count for your score if the Rules allow.
GROUND UNDER REPAIR: In addition to areas circled by white lines, the following areas are considered ground under repair:
- all cultivated flower & shrubbery beds – No Play Zones,
- any wrong green – No Play Zones, and
- ball in sod seams of newly sodded areas – lie of ball and area of intended swing only.
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: The following are immovable obstructions:
- all artificially surfaced cart paths, service roads, including gravel and rock surfaced paths and roads and reasonable extensions thereof, and
- stone pavers, rocks or timbers adjacent to a cart path are treated as part of the path.
NOTE: The new cart path on holes 8, 17, and 18. The edges along the side of the new path are treated as part of the path.
INTEGRAL OBJECTS: The barn on Hole #1 is an integral object. Free relief is not available.
OUT OF BOUNDS: Boundaries are defined by the following:
- white stakes, and
- the inside edge of parking lot curbing or pavement.
PENALTY AREAS: Red and Yellow Penalty Areas exist on the course. When stakes and lines are used to mark a penalty area, the stakes identify while the lines define the edge.
DROPPING ZONE: A dropping zone has been provided as an additional relief option for a ball in the yellow penalty area on hole #15.
PACE OF PLAY: The MGA Pace of Play policy is in effect during all levels of the Championship. Please maintain your position on the course at all times. The expected pace of play is 4:29 for 18 holes.
