                Championship Information

Congratulations and thank you for participating in the 2025 MGA Women’s Match Play & Players’ Championships at Spring Hill Golf Club on June 16-18!  We are excited to have you as part of the Championships and look forward to seeing you there.

This is our fourth year of combining these major events.  This is the 33rd Women’s Match Play Championship and the 48th Players’ Championship.  It is fun and exciting to see the best men and women players competing on the same course under the same conditions.

Here is some important information you need to know in advance of the event. But, if we have missed something or if you have other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Championship Formats – Women & Men – The format features an 18-hole, stroke play qualifying in each division on Monday to determine the 16 players who will advance to single elimination match play beginning on Tuesday morning.  If necessary, a playoff will be conducted to determine the final position(s) immediately following the conclusion of play in each division.  The men’s field will start with 64 players.

Seeding – Players in both divisions will be seeded in Match Play based on their score in the Stroke Play qualifying.  Players tied at a score will be seeded based on a first in basis.  If either defending champion is playing, they automatically advance to match play and do not need to play in the stroke play qualifying (but may do so as a practice round following the last qualifying group).  They will be the #1 seed in their respective championship.

Practice Round – Practice rounds are available on a space available basis.  Please contact one of the professional staff at the Spring Hill Golf Shop (952/473-2815) and identify yourself as an MGA Women’s Match Play or Players’ Championship contestant to schedule a practice round.  The fee is $75 cash or Venmo only (no credit cards).

Push/Pull Carts & Caddies – Push/pull carts ARE NOT permitted at Spring Hill.  Please plan accordingly.  You may carry your own bag, bring your own caddie or use a Spring Hill caddie.  To reserve a club caddie, please email Phil McClellan at Phil@springhillgc.com.

Parking – Parking is very limited parking at Spring Hill.  Due to the expected number of people on the course on Monday, please plan on carpooling.  Arrangements have been made to allow for parking at Messiah United Methodist Church, 17805 County Road 6, Plymouth (about 5 minutes away from Spring Hill).  Please park in the spaces furthest EAST (closest to Olive Lane N).  Many thanks to Senior Paster Tami Luckhardt and the Church for allowing us to use their parking lot!

Golf Course Setup – Please check the respective Championship webpages for specific details. We reserve the right to alter the setup, including shortening or lengthening holes, on a round-by-round basis.

Lodging – No lodging has been arranged for this event.

Food & Beverages:  Lunch will be provided to all players every day they are competing.  On Monday, you may elect to eat before or after your round based on your starting time.  The kitchen opens each day at 11a.

Cell Phones - Obviously, cell phones are required for scoring; however, Spring Hill policy does not allow for incoming or outgoing calls except in designated areas only, which include the Phone Room, Board Room (Tournament Office) and the locker rooms next to the land line phone.  You also may use them in your vehicle with the windows up.  Phones MUST be set on silent or vibrate for notifications while on property.

Attire - Traditional golf attire is required at all times.  Men's shirts must be tucked in.  Men MUST wear hats forward and remove them while in the Clubhouse.  Please change your shoes in the locker room rather than at your vehicle.
