U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Qualifier General Information
PAIRINGS/STARTING TIMES: Not subject to change unless withdrawals dictate otherwise and only as dictated by official(s) in charge.
QUALIFIERS: The USGA has informed us that THREE (3) qualifying sides will advance to the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship at The Desert Mountain Club from our site.
WITHDRAWALS: Players who must withdraw should contact Jacob Oaks at the LGA offices as soon as is feasible. (O) 337-265-3938 or via email: joaks@lgagolf.org.
RULES: The Rules of Golf will govern play. Each competitor will be provided with a local rules sheet prior to starting play. The “One Ball Rule” will not be in effect. Only brands appearing on the latest revision of the USGA’s list of conforming golf balls may be used.
CARTS & CADDIES: For the qualifying round, you may not ride in a golf cart, but your side’s caddie(s) may transport the side’s clubs in a cart for the qualifying round. Caddie carts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you elect to have your clubs transported in a golf cart, your caddie is the only person allowed to ride in the cart and must follow the cart rules for the day. The cart fee for the caddie cart is $30. Carts are available for participants during their practice round (see below for more details). Spectator carts will be available for the qualifying round on a limited basis after all caddie cart requests have been fulfilled.
PRACTICE: Practice rounds will be available on any day 7 days prior to the Qualifying round. Please contact Tamahka Trails in advance for practice round starting times. Please identify yourself as a qualifier participant. The Golf Shop phone number is 318-240-6300. One practice round is allowed per competitor at the rate of $30 (includes range balls/cart). Additional practice rounds are available at the normal rate. Players must check in before their practice round. The range will be open at 7 AM, one hour prior to the first starting time on the qualifying date (10/2).
PLAYOFF(S): If a playoff for qualifying or the two alternate positions is required, it will take place immediately after the final score is posted, beginning on a hole and continuing in a hole sequence determined by the Committee until a winner is determined.
FOOTWEAR: It is a term of the competition for this Qualifier that shoes with traditionally designed spikes are prohibited (i.e., soft spikes only). Penalty for breach of this term is disqualification.
