QUALIFYING MEMORANDUM TO PLAYERS

FORMAT/QUALIFYING PLACES: The field of contestants will compete for qualifying places and two alternate positions in the 125th United States Women’s Amateur Championship to be played August 4-10, 2025, at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort (Bandon Dunes course), Bandon, Oregon.

PLAYOFF: In the event of a tie for the last qualifying places, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff to determine the final qualifiers and the 1st and 2nd alternate if necessary. All announcements regarding the play-off will be made at the public scoreboard upon completion of the qualifying round.
FOOTWEAR: Shoes with traditionally designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty for breach of this condition: DISQUALIFICATION.
ELECTRONIC SCORING: The official method of scoring will be electronic by use of the Golf Genius Mobile App. Paper scorecards WILL NOT be provided to players for the purpose of scoring. Players should review the printed and video educational information posted on the Qualifying webpage to be prepared for this process. Also, players should make sure their mobile devices are fully charged prior to beginning play and to have charging cables for use between rounds.

GROOVES: The players clubs must conform to the grooves and punch mark specifications in The Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010 (see Decision 4-1/1). Please refer to the Qualifying webpage for more detailed information.
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES: Distance measuring devices ARE PERMITTED. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is two strokes for the first breach, and disqualification for a subsequent breach.
EVACUATION PLAN: In the event of a discontinuance of play during the qualifier, players must return to the Clubhouse for further instructions and updates.
PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds are available on a space-available basis. The rate is $70 and available after 2 pm on Tuesdays and Thursday-Sunday and before 10:30 am on Wednesdays. They are limited to players only and may be limited to one per player. To schedule a practice round, you may reserve a time by calling the Golf Shop (651/770-2366) and identifying yourself as a U.S. Women’s Amateur Qualifying contestant. QUALIFYING ROUND FEES: There is no additional fee associated with the qualifying.
CADDIES & CARTS: Indian Hills will not have caddies available. You may bring your own caddie if you wish to do so, or you may carry your own bag or use push cart (even motorized). The use of motorized riding carts is PROHIBITED during all phases of the Championship.
SPECTATOR CARTS: Spectators will not be allowed to rent carts, unless they present a valid handicap parking permit.
GOLF SHOP/PRACTICE AREAS: These areas will be open for players’ use during the qualifying. Practice areas will open 60 minutes prior to the first starting time.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE: Contestants and caddies must be neat in appearance. (NOTE: The following policy is patterned after the AJGA dress code.) Appropriate length shorts may be worn (i.e. no more than 5” above the knee or an inseam of at least 5”). Tee shirts, tank tops, “Racer” tops, short shorts, cut-off shorts, gym shorts and denim shorts are prohibited. Women’s fashion shirts must not rise above the belt line at any time during the golf swing. Shirts without collars must have sleeves. The Committee will decide whether this requirement has been met. The dress code applies to the caddies as well as the players. A player will be held responsible for the appearance of his caddie.
CELL PHONE POLICY: The use of devices for telecommunications purposes is prohibited during the qualifying.
FOOD & BEVERAGE: Food and beverage service will be available during the qualifying. Bottled water will be available on the course.
