Golf Etiquette & Pace of Play

The Golf Club requires that we finish play in 2 hours and 20 minutes.  These tips will ensure we meet those deadlines.

  • TEE TIME – Arrive 20 minutes prior to your tee time for check-in at the Pro Shop.

  • PACE – keep up with the group in front of you by playing “Ready Golf”.

  • PARKING – park cart on cart path next to tees and greens at all times.  Pull cart should be kept off greens and placed at a quick exit for your next playing spot.

  • PRACTICE SWING – limit to one swing. Practice before addressing the ball on the tee box or fairway while you are waiting for someone else to hit

  • CLUBS – plan ahead for clubs that might be needed so the return to the cart for an additional club can be avoided.

  • COURSE CARE - Replace divots or fill with sand.  Rake sand traps after use.

  • LOST BALLS – up to 3 minutes is allotted to look for lost balls to hasten play.

  • ON THE GREEN – place flag, extra clubs, pull carts on exit side of green.

  • PUTTING – use continuous putting when appropriate. Don’t wait to walk around the green to read your putt, be ready to putt when it is your turn.  Do not step on the line of another player’s putt. Mark your ball if it is in the path of another putter.

  • SCORING – exit the green and record scores at the next tee box.

  • ACCOUNTABILITY - we hold ourselves and other members accountable to achieve the USGA/CGA and local rules.

  • TEACHING - we all assume the role of teaching new members to ensure the foursome is playing the “game of golf”.

  • SLOW PLAY - If you catch up to the group in front of you while they’re on the tee box, please stay back a reasonable distance so you do not distract them while they are hitting.

  • CHATTING – limit times to when you are waiting to hit shots or as you’re walking off the green.  Do not move, talk or stand close to (especially directly behind) a player making a stroke.

  • CELL PHONES - no cell phones in use on the golf course.
