HOLE-BY-HOLE DESCRIPTIONS

(Updated 9/8/2024)

 

 

Unless noted as a local rule, all OOB and Penalty Areas should follow USGA guidelines.

 

OOB:  Drop within relief area IF local rule is adopted; 2 strokes OR replay under stroke and distance - 1 stroke. 

 

Red Penalty Area:  Replay under stroke and distance OR drop as far back on a line to the flagstick from where the ball last crossed the edge OR drop within 2 club lengths of where the ball crossed the edge - 1 stroke.

 

Yellow Penalty Area:  Replay under stroke and distance OR drop as far back on a line to the flagstick and the ball OR drop within 2 club lengths of the ball - 1 stroke. 

 

Unplayable Ball (not including bunkers OR in Penalty Areas):  Replay under stroke and distance OR drop as far back on a line to the flagstick and the ball OR drop within 2 club lengths of the ball - 1 stroke.

 

Hole 1:  

OOB - (1) road to the left of the hole; and (2) driving range. 

RED Penalty Area - High brush/waste area grass to the right of the hole.

 

Hole 2:

OOB - boundary fence line adjacent to houses.

Play as it Lies - (1) Tall grasses in front of the fence; (2) Hole #4 fairway.

 

Hole 3 (LOCAL RULE):  

OOB - road to the left of the hole. If your tee shot goes into the street, you must re-tee the ball. 1 stroke penalty. If a ball, other than the tee shot, goes into the street, you must proceed to DZ2. 1 stroke penalty. 

RED Penalty Area - pond in front of the green. If your tee shot goes into the pond, there are 2 options:  (1) re-tee the ball; or (2) proceed to DZ2 in front of the pond; 1 stroke penalty. (LOCAL RULE)

 

Hole 4:  

OOB - (1) white stakes in front of the fence line on the left; (2) road behind the green.

Play as it Lies - Hole #2 fairway to the right.

 

Hole 5:  

OOB - road along the entire length of the hole on the left.

RED Penalty Area - brush area along the right side of the hole.

Immovable Obstructions - grate to the left of the cart path and the large electrical box.  

Free Relief Areas - if your ball is on the grate, you may take FREE relief; (2) If your ball falls into the grate AND you can identify your ball you may also take FREE relief; (3) If the electrical box impacts your intended swing or stance, you may take FREE relief. 

 

Hole 6 (LOCAL RULE):  

OOB - (1) road to the left surrounding the entire hole; (2) right of the green (near the bathroom) there are 3 white stakes that form a triangle; (3) behind the green and in front of the public sidewalk adjacent to the condos.

YELLOW or RED Penalty Areas - lake/pond on the right.  

If your tee shot goes directly into the water, mark the spot where your ball crossed the YELLOW/RED line into the water (not where it splashes/bounces in). Drop the ball from your knee, as far back in the line as you would like. 1 stroke penalty. 

If your tee shot hits the fairway and then goes into the water, take lateral penalty relief - 1 stroke. 

If your ball goes into the water on any other shot, proceed to DZ2 for your penalty relief. 1 stroke penalty. (LOCAL RULE)

RED Penalty Area - culvert/large drainage structure. To obtain the nearest point of relief, while not impeding your stance, mark 1 club length (with longest club) out. Then mark 1 additional club-length out from the original mark, and then you have a semi-circle in which you can drop your ball from your knee for the nearest point of relief. 1 penalty stroke. (LOCAL RULE)

 

Hole 7:  

OOB - in front of the public sidewalk/condos.

RED Penalty Area - area to the right of the hole and surrounding the back side of the green.

 

Hole 8:  

OOB - fence line along the entire left side of the hole is a boundary fence.

RED Penalty Area - waste brush area to the right of the entire hole and surrounding part of the green.

YELLOW Penalty Area - ditch and rocks in front of the green. 

FREE Relief Areas - (1) beginning at the large sand bunker on the left and before the boundary fence, the rocks that run the length of the hole; (2) footbridge by ditch and rocks in front of the green if your ball comes to rest on it (no closer to the hole).

 

Hole 9:  

OOB - (1) driving range to the right of the hole; (2) area on the other side of the sidewalk around the practice area. 

RED Penalty Area - brush area to the front left of the tee box and the waste/brush area along the left side of the hole. 

 

Hole 10:  

OOB - (1) the 2 white stakes on the right to protect the practice area; (2) cart path and tunnel behind the green.

RED Penalty Area - waste/brush area to the left of the entire length of the hole.  

Play as it Lies - beyond the 2 white stakes on the hill on the right, this area is considered in bounds and playable. 

 

Hole 11:  

OOB - (1) brick fence that lines the entire length on the left of the hole is a boundary fence; (2) houses on the right side of the hole marked by white stakes.

RED Penalty Area - pond in front and to the left of the tee box.

 

Hole 12 (LOCAL RULE):  

OOB - (1) brick and iron fence that lines the entire length of the left side of the hole; (2) fence behind the green, adjacent to the house is also a boundary fence; (3) houses along the right side of the fairway are also marked with white stakes to show the property line.  

FREE Relief Area - cart path on the left is in bounds and the rocks that align with the cart path.

YELLOW and RED Penalty Areas - lake in front of the green is marked by both YELLOW and RED penalty markers. **Pay special attention to where it is ‘YELLOW’ and where it is ‘RED’.  

YELLOW Penalty Area - if your tee shot goes in the water, mark the spot where your ball crossed the YELLOW line into the water (not where it splashes/bounces in). Drop the ball from your knee, as far back in the line as you would like. 1 stroke penalty.

If your ball goes into the water on any other shot, proceed to DZ2 for your penalty relief. 1 stroke penalty. (LOCAL RULE)

RED Penalty Area - wet area behind and to the right of the green that separates the tee box of Hole #13 and the green.  

 

Hole 13:

OOB - white stake area behind the green next to the homes. 

RED Penalty Area - brush on the right of the tee box.

 

Hole 14:  

OOB - (1) brush area along the left side of the fairway is marked by white stakes; (2) the ‘rattlesnake’ area that is elevated and walled on the right of the fairway and cart path is also marked by white stakes; (3) fence line on the hill beyond the fairway is a boundary fence; (4) fence line beyond the green adjacent to the homes is a boundary fence.

Play as it Lies - tall grass in front of the boundary fences is deemed playable without relief, if found.

 

Hole 15:  

OOB - (1) houses that border the entire right side of the fairway are marked by white stakes; (2) houses in the distance (west side) of the hole are also marked by white stakes. 

Play as it Lies - tall grass/brush along the left side of the tee box and fairway is marked as a ‘rattlesnake’ area but is considered in play until you reach the fence above/beyond the tall grass.  You may play the ball as it lies or take an unplayable lie. 

Immovable Obstruction - at the right side of the green adjacent to the cart path is a large grate that covers a drainage device. If your ball comes to rest on or in or adjacent to the structure, such that it impacts your stance or swing, you are entitled to FREE relief.

FREE Relief Area - if your ball is on the grate, you may take FREE relief; (2) If your ball falls into the grate AND you can identify your ball you may also take FREE relief.

 

Hole 16:  

OOB - (1) the hill and houses that line the right side of the tee box and fairway are marked by white stakes; (2) white stakes along the left side of the tee box and fairway near the homes; (3) behind the green there are also white stakes.

RED Penalty Area - left of the fairway adjacent to the last house.  

 

Hole 17:  

OOB - (1) the dog leg hole is marked on both sides by either white penalty stakes adjacent to the houses and/or a rock wall which is considered a boundary wall; (2) the road on the far side, beyond the green.

 

Hole 18:  

OOB - (1) the white stakes in front of the road that border the far right; (2) the white stakes in front of the boundary fence along the left, spanning the length of the hole; (3) the white stakes on the far right of the fairway along the homes; (4) iron fence beyond the ditch; (5) white stakes near the tunnel or any ball ending in the tunnel.

RED Penalty Area - ditch area behind the green and beyond the sidewalk.
