Information and Local Rules

TIES & PLAYOFFS: In the event of a tie for the final qualifying spot and/or any alternate position, a hole-by-hole playoff will be conducted immediately following play.

 

EVACUATION PLAN: In the event play is suspended for a dangerous situation (lightning), players are to return to the Clubhouse.  The signal for a suspension due to a dangerous situation is two (2) prolonged horn blasts.

 

Rules are governed by the Rules of Golf, USGA Terms of Competition, Notice to Competitors, Memo to Players
and the following local rules.  Disregard all local rules printed on the local card.

 

ELECTRONIC SCORING: Per the information posted on the Qualifying webpage, the official method of scoring will be digital by use of the Golf Genius Mobile App.  Players are expected to Certify as both the Marker and Player in the app.  Players should report to the Scoring Area for verification of scores prior to certifying the scores through the app.

 

ELECTRONIC MEASURING DEVICES: Per the 2025 USGA Terms of Competition, distance measuring devices ARE permitted.  However, information gained from their use must be limited to DISTANCE ONLY.

 

PACE OF PLAY/UNREASONABLE DELAY (RULE 5.6): Players are expected to play without delay, and groups are expected to remain in position with the group immediately in front of it.  Timing sheets showing the time by when each hole must be completed are posted on the Qualifying webpage.  Groups who fall out of position will be WARNED (First breach) and are subject to monitoring and timing by a Rules official.  Players are expected to play a stroke within 40 seconds from when it is their time to play.  Players who receive a bad time after being warned will receive One penalty stroke.  Players who receive a second bad time will receive Two penalty strokes.  The expected pace of play is 4:30 for 18 holes.  Penalty for Breach of Rule 5.6a:  First breach: Group Warning; Second breach: One penalty stroke; Third breach: Two penalty strokes; Fourth breach: DISQUALIFICATION.

 

OUT OF BOUNDS: In addition to white stakes, lines and boundary fences, the Parking Lot and Clubhouse areas are out of bounds.  If your ball goes out of bounds and comes to rest on another part of the course, the ball is still out of bounds.

 

PENALTY AREAS: When stakes and lines are used to mark Penalty Areas, the stakes identify the Penalty Area while the lines define the edge.  NOTE: Disregard the red line surrounding the Maintenance Area as it is to be played as an Immovable ObstructionDisregard any Native Areas surrounded by a red line that do not have a traditional penalty area contained within it.

 

FESCUE (NATIVE) AREAS:  Fescue (Native) areas are part of the General Area from which free relief is not available. 

 

GROUND UNDER REPAIR: In addition to areas circled by white lines, the following areas are considered ground under repair:

  1. Ball lying in a landscape bed with a formal border (rock, stones or edging).
  2. Nursery Green near Holes #3 & 8 (NO PLAY ZONE)

 

WOOD CHIPPED AREAS:  These are part of the General Area from which free relief is not available.  However, individual wood chips are loose impediments and may be removed as long as doing so does not cause the ball to move.

 

SOD SEAMS: Model Local Rule F-7: Relief from Seams of Cut Turf is in effect.  Relief is for lie of ball and area of intended swing ONLY. There is no relief from interference for stance only.

 

OBSTRUCTIONS:  The following conditions are obstructions from which free relief is available:

  1. Maintenance Area

 

DROPPING ZONES:  Dropping zones (DZ) are provided as additional options as follows for the noted reasons:

  1. Hole #4:           Short of Maintenance Area for ball in Maintenance Area
  2. Hole #5(i):        Left for ball in Red Penalty Area
  3. Hole #5(ii):       Short & Long for interference from cart path; use nearest DZ
  4. Hole #6:           Adjacent to Maintenance Area for ball in Maintenance Area
  5. Hole #9:           Short and Long of Green for interference from cart path; use nearest DZ
  6. Hole #10:         Short and Long of Green for interference from cart path; use nearest DZ
  7. Hole #14:         Adjacent to transition from OB to Red Penalty Area left of fairway
  8. Hole #15:         Forward tee for ball in Yellow Penalty Area
  9. Hole #15:         Right of back bunker for ball in Red Penalty Area left of green
