Notice to Competitors
ELECTRONIC SCORING: The official method of scoring will be electronic by use of the Golf Genius Mobile App. Paper scorecards WILL NOT be provided to players for the purpose of scoring. Players should review the printed and video educational information posted on the Qualifying webpage to be prepared for this process. Also, players should make sure their mobile devices are fully charged prior to beginning play and to have charging cables for use between rounds.

USGA Groove Policy: The player’s clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from
*PENALTY FOR CARRYING, BUT NOT MAKING A STROKE WITH, CLUB OR CLUBS IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round – Four strokes. In the event of a breach between the play of two holes, the penalty applies to the next hole.
*Any club or clubs carried in breach of this condition must be declared out of play by the player to his marker or a fellow competitor immediately upon discovery that a breach has occurred. If the player fails to do so, he is disqualified.
PENALTY FOR MAKING A STROKE WITH CLUB IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Disqualification.

Distance Measuring Devices: Distance measuring devices ARE PERMITTED. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is two strokes for the first breach, and disqualification for a subsequent breach.

In the event of a tie for this place or any alternate position, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following the completion of play.
Practice Rounds: Practice rounds are available. To schedule a practice round, contact the Golf Shop 651/439-6981 and identify yourself as a USGA Qualifying contestant. The rate is may be found at this link: https://www.oakglengolf.com/Play-Golf/Daily-Green-Fees.
Practice Range: The practice range will be open at least one (1) hour before the first starting time on the morning of the qualifying.
Footwear Policy: As stated on the official entry form, shoes with traditionally-designed spikes
(regardless of composition) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially
of metal (when such metal comes in contact with the surface of the putting green) are
prohibited. Penalty for breach of this condition: DISQUALIFICATION.
Food and Beverage: Food and beverage service will be available during the qualifying from the clubhouse. Coolers are available on the course every 2-3 holes.
Starting Times: There will no change in the starting times established by the Committee other than by decision of the Committee due to weather conditions.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE: Contestants and caddies must be neat in appearance. Traditional golf attire, including shorts, slack, capris, skorts and golf dresses, may be worn. Denim, blue jeans and short shorts are prohibited. The Committee will decide whether this requirement has been met. The dress code applies to the caddies as well as the players. A player will be held responsible for the appearance of his caddie.
Caddies: The Yacht Club will not have caddies available. You may bring your own caddie if you wish to do so, or you may carry your own bag or use pushcart (even motorized). EXCEPTION: Competitors in the Girls’ Junior qualifying may not use a parent, stepparent or guardian as a caddie.
Golf Carts: The use of motorized riding carts is PROHIBITED during all phases of the Championship.
Pace of Play: The Pace of Play policy will be in effect and the expected pace for this qualifying is posted on the webpage for this event. Players are responsible for knowing and adhering to the policy.

Spectator Carts: Spectator carts will be permitted during the Qualifying in very limited cases. All requests must go through the Official in Charge. The regular cart fee will be charged for any approved spectator carts.
