Player Information Sheet

Format: The competition will be 36 Holes of Stroke Play. The field will be cut to the low 60 scorers & ties after Round 1. Players will be repaired for Round 2, based on Round 1 results. Round 2 Starting Times will be available shortly after the completion of Round 1. Any tie for first place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off on July 30th. 

 

Schedule:

Tuesday, July 29th - Round 1, 18 Holes - The field will be cut to the low 60 scorers & ties for Round 2

Wednesday, July 30th - Round 2, 18 Holes - Round 2 starting times will begin at 7:30am off the 1st & 10th tees

 

Rules of Play: The 2023 Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the Mass Golf Hard Card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the Championship site and/or electronically in advance of the qualifier. It is the individual player’s responsibility to know the Local Rules and Terms of the Competition.

Golf Carts/Caddies: Golf carts are permitted for use and are available at the player’s expense for $30 per player. The use of caddies/pull carts is also permitted.

 

Round 1 Starting Times: Play will begin at 7:30am (Morning Wave) and 12:00pm (Afternoon Wave), in groups of 3, at 11-minute intervals, off the 1st & 10th tees. Players should report to the starting tee ten minutes before their scheduled tee time.

Notes

  • In order to schedule a practice round YOU MUST CALL the golf shop. No walk-up times will be available.
    • Please introduce yourself as a competitor in the field.

  • There will be a MANDATORY cart/trail fee of $40/player for a practice round. Card and Cash acceptable.
  • Competitors will be limited to one practice round and may be paired up with other Amateur Public Links Championship competitors.
  • Only one ball may be played per competitor during their practice round.
  • Practice rounds are for players only – no guests or caddies allowed.

 

Competition Tees/Yardage: Approximate yardage for the Championship Proper will be around 6,500 yards (club’s BLUE tees)

 

Practice Facilities: Driving Range will open at 6:30am for Round 1 and Round 2. Players must drive to and from the driving range. No golf carts will be allowed at the driving range.

 

Food & Beverage: Mass Golf will be providing a complimentary luncheon for all competitors on Tuesday, July 29th. Additional food and beverage services will be available in the clubhouse (cash or credit). Players are on their own for F&B on Wednesday July 30th.
