Player Information Sheet
Schedule of Play/Format:
- September 8th (Monday) & 9th (Tuesday) - Round 1 and 2 (18 holes/day)
- A cut to the low 30 competitors & ties (or anyone within 5 strokes of the leader) will be made after 36-holes.
- September 10th (Wednesday) - Round 3
Championship Tees: Approximate yardage will be 6,639 yards ("BLUE" tees).
Rules of Play: The 2023 Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the Mass Golf Hard Card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the Championship site. It is the individual player’s responsibility to know the Terms of the Competition.

Caddies and Pull/Push Carts: The use of caddies, and pull/push carts is permitted for the Championship proper.
Golf Carts: The use of automotive transportation (golf carts) is permitted for the Championship proper, but are not included in your entry fee. Carts must be rented at the competitor's expense - $30 (cash and/or credit card accepted).
Note: No more than 2 golf carts will be permitted per starting time regardless of the number of players and/or caddies in a group. Caddies are permitted to ride in a player's cart only if there is an available seat.
Starting Times (Rounds 1 & 2): Can be found on the Massachusetts Mid-Amateur home page. Please make sure to be at your starting tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time to ensure that all proper instructions are received from the starter. The clocks at the 1st and 10th tees are the official time.
Practice Rounds:
Dates & Times
- Week of 8/26 – 8/29 – based on availability
- Wednesday September 3rd – all day
- Thursday September 4th – all day
- Saturday September 6th – after 2pm
- Sunday September 7th – after 2pm
Notes
- Please email/call the Andover Country Club Golf Shop (proshop@andovercountryclub.com or 978-475-2024) in order to schedule a practice round.
- No walk-up times will be available.
- Andover Country Club will be offering their member guest rate of $125 for a practice round – CASH OR CARD ACCEPTED
- Competitors will be limited to one practice round and may be paired up with other Mid- Amateur Championship competitors.
- Only one ball may be played per competitor during their practice round.
- For competitors unable to take advantage of a practice round date or wanting to preview the course just ahead of the championship, competitors/caddies may WALK (no clubs) the course on Sunday, September 7th after 5:00pm.
- The practice putting green will be available for competitors after 5:00pm on Sunday, September 7th. The practice range/short game area will be unavailable on Sunday, September 7th.
Practice Facilities: The practice facilities will be open one hour before the first scheduled starting time, and will close after the last tee time of the day. All competitors will be expected to walk to/from the practice facilities.
Sunday, September 7th: For competitors wanting to preview the course just ahead of the Championship, competitors/caddies may WALK (no clubs or golf balls) the course on Sunday, September 7th after 5:00pm.
- The practice range and short game area(s) will be closed. Practice putting green will be available.

- All yardage books (and greens guides) purchased through StrackaLine are compliant with the Rules of Golf and are permitted for use in Mass Golf championships.
Food & Beverage Services:
- Monday, September 8th: Lunch will be provided by Mass Golf for all competitors from approx. 11:00am to 3:00pm.
- Tuesday, September 9th: All food and beverage items will be available at the player's expense. CARD ONLY
- Wednesday, September 10th: Lunch will be provided by Mass Golf for all competitors from approx. 11:00am to 3:00pm.
- Additional food and beverage services (including bar service) will be available to players, caddies, spectators, etc. from the restaurant at the individual's expense (credit card only).
- Breakfast services will not be available throughout the week.
Prizes: The Ted Bishop Cup will be presented to the Champion. Merchandise certificates will be awarded to the top finishers and ties and are only redeemable at the host site.
