Championship Player Memo

INFORMATION:

TOURNAMENT DATE: Saturday, September 22 – Sunday, September 23 

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

DIRECTIONS:  Take I-96 to 127 N to the Trowbridge Road exit off 127/496. Turn R on Harrison Road. Entrance is just past Mt. Hope Road (about 1 mile).

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (517) 355-1635.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Junior Invitational contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS:  In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round..

ONE BALL RULE: The One Ball Rule will not be in effect for this championship.

FOOD:  A meal will be provided after the first round on September 22. Other food and beverage may be purchased at the snack shop.

CADDIES/CARTS:  All players are required to walk. Contestants must carry their own bag, caddies are not permitted. Push carts may be used if the club allows. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  The driving range will open one hour before the first tee time. 

PLAYOFF: A playoff for the Championship will take place immediately after the final scores have been posted. It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you have to withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing kwolfe@gam.org. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
