Schedule of Play/Format:

 

Stroke Play

August 4th & 5th - Stroke Play (18-holes/day)

  • The low 16 players will qualify for Match Play beginning on Wednesday, August 6th
  • Any ties for the final match play qualifying place(s) will be determined by a hole-by-hole playoff, if needed on August 5th

 

Match Play

August 6th - Round of 16 (AM) & Quarterfinals (PM)

August 7th - Semifinals (AM) & Finals (PM)

 

Rules of Play - The 2023 Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the Mass Golf Hard Card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the Championship sites. It is the individual player’s responsibility to know the Terms of the Competition.

Golf Carts, Caddies and Pull Carts: Players are NOT permitted to use caddies or automotive transportation during Qualifying or the Championship Proper.

 

Starting Times: Can be found HERE. Please make sure to be at your starting tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time to ensure that all proper instructions are received from the starter. 

 

Play will be starting from the 11th Tee during the Qualifying Rounds. There will be multiple shuttles running to and from the tee. Please give yourself at least 20 MINUTES prior to your tee time to make it on time.

 

Practice Rounds: 

 

Dates & Times:

  • Tuesday, July 29th - 9:30am - 10:12am 
  • Wednesday, July 30th - 9:30am - 10:12am
  • Thursday, July 31st - 9:30am - 10:12am
  • Saturday, August 2nd - 2:00pm - 2:40pm
  • Sunday, August 3rd - 2:00pm - 2:40pm

 

Notes

  • Practice rounds are only for players in the Massachusetts Junior Amateur Championship.
    • Parents/Spectators will not be allowed on course during the practice rounds.
    • Players must only play one ball during their round.
    • Franklin Country Club will be pairing up players for practice rounds at their discretion. 
  • Practice rounds are available until 4 Days prior to their respective practice round date - after that the tee times will open up to the FCC membership. Players may still book within that 4 day window if space is available. 
  • There will be a MANDATORY trail fee of $30 for practice rounds. (CASH ONLY).
  • Please call the Franklin Country Club pro shop and state that you are a playing and your name to book your Practice Rounds: 508-528-6110 (x3).

 

Practice Areas: All practice areas will be open and available at 7:00am each day.

 

Tees/Approximate Yardage: The championship will be played at approx. 6,400 yards (Blue/White tees), par 71.

 

Food & Beverage: Mass Golf will provide a sponsored lunch for all competitors on each day of the event.

  • Monday, August 4th
    • A Mass Golf sponsored lunch will be provided to all competitors from 11:00am-3:00pm.
  • Tuesday, August 5th
    • A Mass Golf sponsored lunch will be provided to all competitors from 11:00am-3:00pm.
  • Wednesday, August 6th & Thursday, August 7th
    • Mass Golf will provide lunch for all competitors throughout match play.
  • Additional F&B Details:
    • Lunch for Parents/Spectators - In the clubhouse starting at 11:00am

 

Trophies & Prizes - The winner will receive the Charles E. Mason Trophy. The Pre-Junior Champion (15 & under) will receive the Joseph M. Batchelder Memorial Trophy as the low 36 Hole scorer at the conclusion of stroke play. The 16 Match Play Qualifiers will receive merchandise certificates that are only redeemable at the host site.
