Flights
- Age is based upon your age on 3/31//2025
- Initial seeding is based upon Handicap Index on 3/24/25
- Seniors and Super Seniors must declare to the Pro Shop, prior to the first day of play which tee they will compete from. A Senior or Super Senior may elect to play in the Nicklaus Division, where all play will be from the Blue tees. For play within the Hogan Division, a Super Senior may elect to play from the Green tees. The Division and tee selected must be played in all matches for the entire tournament. No tee box changes for any player will be permitted after the tournament begins, even if a participant transitions to a different age category during the tournament.
Flights Format
- 8-Man Flight “Round Robin”:
- Flight Round Robin explained: A flight will consist of 8 golfers divided into two brackets A and B. Golfers in that flight ranked 1-4 (in order of handicap), will be bracket A. Golfers 5-8 (in order of handicap) will be bracket B. All 4 golfers in bracket A will play each other with one golfer emerging as the bracket A winner. All golfers in bracket B will play each other with one golfer emerging as bracket B winner. Flight A will be 1-8, Flight B will be 9-16, etc.
- Once bracket A and B winner is declared the two will play each other for the Flight Championship. This gives every participant a guaranteed 3 rounds before being eliminated. (Tie breakers for the Round Robin brackets will be head-to-head outcomes. If still tied, we will use total number of holes won in the bracket matches.)
- All matches must be completed in the prescribed times below. Matches not completed or conceded within the specific timeframe will be adjudicated by a coin toss. All players are highly encouraged to keep this as competitive as possible and schedule matches with the full intent to compete.
- In both Hogan and Nicklaus Divisions if there are not 64 golfers in the respective division, the some golfers may get “bye’s” based off final golfer participation numbers.
Playoffs/Championship
- Playoff Rounds: Pairings for the playoff rounds will be seated with the 8 Flight winners. In both divisions, the 8 flight winners will be seated 1-8 via their respective flight. Playoffs will be as follows:
-
1v2

3v4
-
5v6
-
7v8
-
Winner of 1v2 and 3v4 will play in semi and the winner of the semi moves onto the championship
-
Winner of 5v6 and 7v8 will play in semi and the winner of the semi moves onto the championship
-
- Championship Matches will be played in early October. The Wilson Cup will award a winner for both Hogan and Nicklaus Divisions.
Match Formats & Rules
- All matches will be conducted following match play rules and will be net play, with strokes given off the low player based on the handicaps the day of play.
- Check with the Pro Shop - If the day of your match is cart path only - then you can lift, clean, and place in the fairway.
- Rake and Place in all bunkers in all matches.
- All matches will be 18-holes and 9-hole matches will not be accepted. In the case any 9-hole match is played scores will not be counted and a coin flip will determine the winner.
- All players are required to check in with the Pro Shop prior to play to receive their scorecard, confirm their handicaps. Please ensure scores are recorded in the Golf Genuis App. Upon completion of the match, turn in the scorecard to the Golf Shop signed, and annotated with the final score.
- The handicap stroke allowance will be based on 100 percent of Course Handicap as of the day of the match for the tees that each player selected at the start of the Tournament. Strokes will be given off the low handicap.
- USGA Rules, DVCC Local Rules, govern all play.
- Should a concession occur during a match, the winning player will be considered to have won the remaining holes until the match is closed out. For example, should Player A be up 4 at the 10th hole and Player B concedes the match at that point, then Player A would be awarded a win on 3 additional holes and would win the match 7 and 6.
- A match that is All Square (Tied), after 18 holes will continue until there is a winner. Golfers need to stop by the Pro Shop after 18, advise them of the tie, and then proceed to the #1 hole where the match will continue until a winner is declared. Handicaps for the holes still apply.
- If there is a rules dispute in match play, a player may make a claim. If possible, contact the golf shop for guidance. If no duly authorized representative is available within a reasonable time, the players must continue the match without delay. The claim only can be considered if the player making the claim notifies his opponent (1) that he is making a claim, (2) of the facts of the situation, and (3) that he wants a ruling. The claim must be made before any player plays from the next teeing ground, or in the case of the last hole in the match before players leave the putting green.
- If the match ends with holes left to play, players are asked to complete all 18 holes and play out the rest of the holes as match play.
Posting your Score
- When a hole is started but a player does not hole out, the player must record their most likely score for handicap purposes. (Rule 3.3, Rules of Handicapping)
- If a match ends with holes left to play and the players do not play the remaining holes, the players should post using the hole-by-hole feature for each hole played (keeping in mind at least 9 holes associated with a 9-hole Course Rating™ and Slope Rating™ must be played for a score to posted).
Scheduling
- All Flights/Matches can be found in the Golf Genuis App. (Any Player having issues with the GG App, please contact the Pro Shop for access.) Golfers participating in the WC can find contact information for their opponent for scheduling in the “Members Portal” of the GG App under the respective divisions.
