Mission
In Memoriam of Sadie Park, mother of Martin Park. She began playing golf in her late 30's in Hong Kong and never carried a handicap of less than 24 but had an extreme passion and enthusiasm for the game of golf.
While in Hong Kong, Sadie was heavily involved in junior golf and introduced her son to the game at a young age. She played pretty much every weekend with her friends at the Royal Hong Kong Golf Club where the Hong Kong Open and LIV event are played today. She was so involved in golf as well as the growth of the club that she was elected twice as Club Captain, a position of recognition.
A champion of golf in her community, Sadie Park was a beacon of light and enthusiasm. She even has 6 Hole in Ones to her name. Her name will continue to live on in Kansas through this tournament - the Sadie Park Sunflower Girls Championship.
Eligibility
Open to female amateur golfers aged 19 or younger and have not yet started their freshman year of college. An active handicap index is required with a Central Links Golf member club.
National Recognition
This event has AJGA PBERS Status and is recognized by Junior Golf Scoreboard.
Format
Two-day stroke play competition - 36 holes.
Prizes
The Champion of the event will receive a glass trophy as well as retain the perpetual traveling trophy for one year. The Champion is responsible for making arrangements to return the trophy to CLG before the event the following year. The Runner-Up will receive a glass trophy.
Ties
A hole-by-hole on-course playoff will be used in the event of a tie for first place overall gross.
Entries & Fees
Entries open on March 4, 2025 at 10:00am. The entry fee is $75 per player. The entry fee includes a player gift, two rounds of golf and prizes.
Rules of Golf, Competition is Final
Play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA. Questions will be settled by the on-site Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. The competition is final when the Championship trophy has been presented.
Equipment
All golf balls and clubs must conform to USGA specifications. Any unusual equipment or devices, such as gloves, unusual tees, alignment aids, braces, and the like are prohibited by The Rules of Golf.
Dress Code
Proper golf attire is required. Jeans, halter tops, tank tops, and athletic t-shirts are not permitted. Shoes with metal spikes are not permitted.
Registration
On-site registration will not be required. Please arrive at your starting tee 10 minutes prior to your starting time to receive instructions.
