65th Western Pennsylvania Boys Championship

Tuesday,June 24, 2025 - Latrobe Elks Lodge Golf Club, Latrobe, PA
This notice serves as confirmation for entry into the WPGA Boys Championship on Tuesday June 24th, 2025, at Latrobe Elks Lodge Golf Club in Latrobe, PA. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. The locker room and practice facility will open at least one hour before the first tee time on the day of the tournament.
At least one member of each grouping is required to download the Golf Genius scoring app prior to arrival. The group's GGID will be provided on the starting tee.
Format: The competition is 18 holes of stroke play for both 14 to 15 years of age and 11 to 13 years of age. The competition is 9 holes of stroke play for the 8 to 10 years of age division. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed at the starting tees. In the event of a tie for first place in any division, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.
Tee Markers: Play will be from the WPGA White Tee Markers for both divisions (14 and 15 years of age and 11 to 13 years of age). Play will be from the Blue Tee Markers for the 8 and 10 years of age division.
Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). A checkpoint system will be in place.
Practice: Practice rounds may be scheduled and must be pre-arranged by contacting the golf shop at 724-539-1582. The Golf Professional is Frank Griser. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player.
Transportation/Caddies: Walking is required for the competition. Players may bring their own caddies. Players are permitted to use push trolleys for the round.
Food: Lunch is included and will be available at the conclusion of the round.
Footwear: Model Local Rule G-7 Prohibiting the Use of Certain Types of Shoes is in effect. Shoes with traditional metal spikes or spikes of any design that are partially or entirely made of metal are prohibited.
Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players are to immediately return to the clubhouse. WPGA staff and volunteers will assist in the evacuation.
NOTE: A suspension of play for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other suspensions of play will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes.
Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the round without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines.
