Baylands New Member Teams, January 12, 2019

Welcome to all of the new members! Thank you for joining the club.

This is a four-man team format (ABCD) using the (2) best net scores from each hole. Each team has one player from each skill level (ABCD). Teams were created by the software based in handicaps with a few adjustments to accommodate players.

There will be 1 flight and 11 teams. Carts are not included in the entry fee and can be rented for $16 per rider.

A & B Players play from the Blue Tees; C & D Players play from the White Tees.

We will adhere to USGA rules, Baylands Golf Links rules and PAGC local rules.

This tournament will be played with Preferred Lies as described below.

PREFERRED LIES (Committee Procedures Model Local Rule E-3): When the Committee has determined that "preferred lies" or "winter rules" are necessary due to adverse weather or course conditions, the following Rule is in effect: "When a player's ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing it from this relief area:"
1. Reference Point: Spot of the original ball.
2. Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point: one club-length from the reference point, but with these limits:
3. Limits on Location of Relief Area:
a. Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point, and
b. Must be in the general area.
In proceeding under this Local Rule, the player must choose a spot to place the ball and use the procedures for replacing a ball under Rules 14.2b(2) and 14.2e.
Penalty for Playing Ball from a Wrong Place in Breach of Local Rule: General Penalty Under Rule 14.7a.

1st Place: $45 Credit at Baylands Pro Shop, 45 TOC points – Each Player
2nd Place: $35 Credit at Baylands Pro Shop, 35 TOC points – Each Player
3rd Place: $25 Credit at Baylands Pro Shop, 25 TOC points – Each Player
4th Place: $15 Credit at Baylands Pro Shop, 15 TOC points – Each Player
5th Place: $5 Credit at Baylands Pro Shop, 5 TOC points – Each Player

Our next tournament is at Spring Valley Golf Course in Milpitas on January 26th 2019 at 10am. This is always a fun tournament and usually yields low scores. Hope to see everyone out there.
