History of the Father Daughter Modified Scotch Tournament: The Father Daughter Tournament originated at Wellesley County Club.  Last year's winners were Fergus and Elise Keane in the Championship Division, and Dustin and Charlotte Rollins in the Forward Division.

 

Format: 

  • 18 holes of Modified Scotch format (commonly known as Modified Foursomes)
  • Both golfers hit their tee shot and select which drive they want to use. They then play alternate shots into the hole. 

 

Approximate Yardages: 

  • Play for all fathers will be from the Mass Golf Black Tees from approximately 6,200 yards.
  • Play for daughters in the Championship Division will be from the Mass Golf Blue Tees from approximately 5,500 yards.
  • Play for daughters in the Forward Division will be from the Mass Golf Red Tees from approximately 5,000 yards.

 

Tee Times: Tee Times will begin at 8:00 a.m.

 

Scorecards: Paper scorecards will be provided to all participants for the player’s own notes. All paper scorecards are considered UNOFFICIAL. The official scorecard will be the mobile Golf Genius app scoring. Prior to the tournament, players should download the Golf Genius app. Click HERE for mobile scoring instructions. You will be provided a GGID number on your scorecards and that will be the code you type into the app to see your foursome and enter scores.

 

Practice Areas: The driving range and putting green will be accessible before play beginning at 7:00 AM.

 

Pace of Play:  Pace for this round is 4 hours and 30 minutes. Please ensure that you are keeping within a hole of the group in front of you.

 

Scoring: At the end of the round all scores must be verified by the team before your team’s designated app scorekeeper and unofficial written scorekeeper reports to the scoring tent. Mass Golf staff will verify with the designated scorekeepers that their scores are accurate and will take a verbal yes as a confirmation/signature.

 

Playoff: In the event of a tie for the Championship Division Champion only, there will be a hole-by-hole sudden death playoff on holes designated by the Committee to determine the Champion team. All other ties will be decided by matching cards in accordance with USGA® recommended method.

 

AwardsThe Father Daughter has a permanent trophy that will be engraved with the names of the Championship Division winners. Prize Certificates will be given out and must be redeemed at Bayberry Hills Golf Course, and the winners of each division will be given take-home trophies.

 

Rules of Golf: The USGA® Rules of GolfLocal Rules and Terms of Competitions for Mass Golf Tournaments govern all play.

 

Mass Golf Policies & Procedures: Please refer to Policies & Procedures and Pace of Play Policy.

 

Distance-Measuring Devices: Permitted as specified in Mass Golf Policies & Procedures.

 

Bathrooms: Available in the clubhouse and on the course on holes 4, 6, 13, and 16.

 

Food and Beverage: Lunch will be available in the clubhouse. There will also be a beverage cart on the course.
