Join us for the annual RDGA Foundation Purpose Day Golf Tournament - including the world-famous Dennis Walters Golf Show - scheduled for Monday, August 25, 2025 at the fabulous Monroe Golf Club! By signing up as a team or individual, your participation will help support our efforts to grow the game of golf through our Junior Golf Programs.
Not a golfer? Not able to play in the Tournament? You can still participate - and support junior golf in Rochester - by signing up to attend the Dennis Walters Golf Show, open bar & hors d'oeuvres reception and Awards Dinner & charity auction following play!
(For those unable to participate in either the golf tournament or the post-tournament celebration - but still wish to contribute to the RDGA Foundation's Junior Golf efforts - please consider a donation by clicking HERE.)
For golfers, this event will feature 2 different formats: your choice of a 4-Person, Team Best 2-of-4 Best Ball, Net and Gross format and prizes (each team will count the best 2 out of 4 scores on each hole), OR, a 4-Person Team Scramble, again both net and gross format and prizes.
Foursomes are welcome to sign up together, or twosomes and singles are also welcomed. Registration is open to RDGA Members and non-members alike. All participants are welcome.
For those non-golfers who can only attend the post-round Dennis Walters Golf Show, Hors d'oeuvres reception and Awards Dinner, you can register as a single, or include up to three more friends or family members who want to join you!

The reason this is called Purpose Day is that we want to show some of the things The RDGA Foundation does in Rochester!
Our junior and partner programs include The First Tee of Western New York, LPGA/USGA Girls Golf, WNY PGA Grow the Game Partnership, Evans (Bailey) Caddie Scholarship Program, Youth On Course, US Kids, RDGA Junior and Pee Wee Events and more. The RDGA also strongly partners with New York State Schools and Section V Schools in support of both boys and girls golf. The RDGA Foundation also awards college scholarships annually to local applicants who are involved with or participate in the game of golf. Through these programs, junior golfers throughout the Rochester area have many opportunities to LEARN the game, PLAY the game...and WIN - in more ways than on the golf course!
WHAT DOES THE RDGA DO?
The Rochester District Golf Association (RDGA) is an Allied Golf Association of the USGA. Its primary responsibility lies in the delivery of USGA Core Products and Services to each of our member clubs, including:
- Providing technical support and maintenance for the USGA GHIN handicap system and the new World Handicap system
- Providing periodic USGA course rating services on a rotating basis
- Administering and providing technical support for the USGA Tournament Management system
- Implementing continuing education seminars regarding the Rules of Golf
- Conducting USGA championship qualifiers and annual RDGA golf tournaments
- Partnering with our member clubs, PGA professionals, local golf organizations and associations, golf leagues and any other entities interested in developing and delivering innovative programs to golfers of all ages, genders and abilities
- Promoting and preserving the traditions of the game
Founded in 1929, the RDGA remains committed to enhancing the golfer experience in the greater Rochester area and to growing and improving the long term health of the game we love.

ELIGIBILITY: Golfers of all ages and all skill levels - RDGA Members and non-members alike
START TIME: 11:00 p.m. Shotgun start
FORMAT: 4-Person Teams, playing Best 2-of-4 Balls, or Scramble. Both net and gross winners.
ENTRY FEE: Golf Tournament: $250 per golfer - or $1000 per foursome. Players may sign up as foursomes, threesomes, twosomes or singles. (We will pair up singles, doubles and threesomes to complete teams. Dinner Only: $100 per person - includes the Dennis Walters Golf Show, open bar & hors d'oeuvres reception and Awards Dinner & live charity auction!
FIELD SIZE: 128 players maximum.
REGISTRATION OPENS: Monday, May 5, 2025 (9:00 am)
