Eligibility: The following is required to participate in any VSWGA Major Championship Tournament.
Vermont Resident* - Any amateur golfer, as of the day of the tournament, who is a legal resident of Vermont and is a member in good standing of a member club** of the Vermont State Women’s Golf Association, has an active GHIN handicap issued by a VSWGA member club and has posted a minimum of 10 rounds of golf in the last 12 months at any VSWGA member club.
OR
Non-Vermont Resident - Any amateur golfer, as of the first day of the tournament, who is not a legal resident of the State of Vermont, but has been a member in good standing of a Vermont State Women’s Golf Association member club** for at least three years***, has an active GHIN handicap issued by a VSWGA member club and has posted a minimum of 10 rounds of golf in the last 12 months at any VSWGA member club.
*Legal residency is defined as the place of primary residence. Often this is determined by where the person is registered to vote or what State is listed on their Driver’s License.
**A list of the VSWGA member clubs, which includes Lakeside Golf Club, can be found on the VSWGA website.
***For 2024 only: non-residents who meet all other criteria but have only 2 years of membership (2023 & 2024) are eligible to participate.
Age Requirement and Field Size: All entrants must be at least 25 years of age by the first day of the tournament. The field is limited to 100 applicants. To be eligible, a player’s USGA handicap index must be 36.0 or less. Once registration closes, if the field size is exceeded, preference will be given to the 25-49 age group. Players 50 and over will be accepted in order of lowest handicap index.
Format: Stroke play.
Awards: Prizes and Universal Certificates will be awarded based on the number of players in the tournament. All certificates expire on September 30th of the following year.
Tee Times: Tee times generally range between 8am and 11:30 am and will be e-mailed to participants and are available through the golf genius portal, approximately 5 days in advance of tournament.
Refund Policy: Refunds are granted up to the close of registration. Withdrawals after the close of registration may be considered for a refund on a case-by-case basis. If a player experiences an emergency and withdraws after the close of registration, they may submit a request for a refund, via e-mail, to Jen Farrington. If approved, a refund will be made, less a $25 administrative charge.

Registration/Check-In: Registration/Check-in at all tournaments will be in the morning until 1 hour before the last tee time on the first day. Registration information will be emailed to registered players.
Caddies: No golf professional is allowed to caddie for any competitor.
