SCORING

While the overall goal of the league is to bring us all together to have fun, the scoring is designed to keep it competitive each week and keep everyone engaged the entire season.

1)      Just for showing up to an event: 5 pts in addition to whatever points you win in tournaments.

2)      For Regular Tuesday Events: 30 points will be given to 1st place, 20 for 2nd, 15 for 3rd, 10 for 4th, and 5 for 5th

3)      For Major Tournaments: 55 points will be given to 1st place, 30 for 2nd, 25 for 3rd, 20 for 4th, and 15 for 5th, 10 for 6th, 5 for 7th

4)      The top 50% the leagues events will be included in your final standings point count. This will be added to all of your points for showing up. Example 1: you played in 12 out of 16 events and finished 1st in a major once and 2nd in a regular event twice. Your total points for the season would be = 12x5pts (attendance) + 45pts (major) + 2x20pts (2nd place) = 145 pts.  Example 2: you played in 15 out of 16 events and finished 1st in a regular event and finished 4th nine times in regular events. Your total pts would be 15x5pts (attend.) + 25pts (1st place) + 7x10pts (4th place) = 170pts.

5)      If you do NOT attend 50% of the regular Tuesday events, you will be disqualified from the playoffs.

6)      If anyone who gets eliminated due to attendance, if there were any tournaments where they received points, the results will be recalculated so that it was as if that person did not play.

7)      Clearly there is an emphasis on attendance, so the more you show up the better off you will be.

8)      The playoffs will be 2 weeks of 9 hole play where the standings going into the playoffs wil be reset so everyone still has a mathematical chance to win. It will be the best score of the 2 rounds that will count as your final score. If you only play once, that will be your score.

9)      Scoring -the MAX score on any hole is double the par! The max score will also be different for players of different handicaps as per USGA handicap calculation rules. So a player who has a handicap of 12 cannot take more than a double bogey on any hole, etc. This allows for more exciting finishes in a league with few players, and faster play.

10)   Cancellation - if you signed up for an event and fail to cancel by 5:00 PM on the Sunday before you will be docked 25 points and be charged whatever the course charges me.  No shows will be docked 50 points. More IMPORTANTLY if you cost anyone any money please pay them back.

11)   Scoring - assign one scorekeeper for the group and one person to attest that the score is accurate. This will be done through an app using your phone.
