Welcome to the Griesedieck Men's Championship
This year's Men's Championship will be 100th playing of this event. The Championship became known as the Griesedieck Men's Championship, after Alvin Griesedieck, the Son of the founder of Griesedieck Brothers Brewing Company (which later became Falstaff Brewing Company). The first Griesedieck Trophy was presented in 1967. Notables who have won the Men's Championship include Bob Goalby (1955) who won the Masters in 1968; Jay Haas, longtime PGA Professional; Jim Holtgrieve, noted Amateur and former Captain of the Walker Cup teams; and many other notable amateurs from the St. Louis area. In 2017, Skip Berkmeyer captured his 5th Men's Championship.
This event is open to all male amateur members in good standing at their respective STLDGA Member Clubs. This year's event is to be held at the Algonquin Golf Club, July 18-21, 2019. Algonquin was the site of the first Men's Championship in 1916.

The Championship consists of two days of Stroke Play Qualification (Thursday and Friday), with the lowest 16 qualifiers proceeding to Match Play on Saturday and Sunday. The finals are played on Sunday afternoon.
