Directions to The Preserve Golf Club:
Follow Rancho San Carlos for approximately 8.5 miles.
Make a left onto Pronghorn Run 1 mile.
You will come to a gate that opens automatically, cross the road and you will approach a second gate.
Use the down arrow to highlight golf club.
Press call and the pro shop will answer to let you through.
Make a left at the drive way which is approximately 200 yards past gate.

 

Format:

One 18-hole stipulated round of individual stroke play.  Contestants will play from the WHITE USGA Tee Markers wherever they are situated (see Yardage sheet).  The low 5 individual scores will advance to sectional qualifying for the U.S. Open Championship at Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wisconsin on June 15-18, 2017. Any play-offs will take place immediately after the conclusion of play for the last spot and two alternate positions.

 

Competition Schedule:

Starting times will start at 9:00am off of #1 and #10. Please check the NCGA website for groupings and starting times. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

10TH Tee Shuttle:

Players starting on the #10 tee will be shuttled from the driving range to the 10th tee 20 minutes prior to their starting time. Please be prepared to leave the driving range on time. If there is time, players will be permitted to practice putt (no chipping) on the 9th green prior to starting on hole #10.

 

Dress Code:

Players, Caddies and Spectators must be properly attired both on the golf course and premises of the club. Players must read The Preserves Customs and Courtesies.

 

Spectators:

Spectators are permitted. Spectators that are not arriving with the player must contact The Preserve Golf Shop prior to the event so their names can be put on the Guest List at the Gate House. Otherwise, they will not be granted access.

 

Practice Round Information:

Available to CONTESTANTS ONLY. Please call the Pro Shop to arrange for practice round tee times. Practice rounds are available after Monday-Friday and after 1:00 on weekends. Green fees: $125 including cart. Cash, credit cards and reciprocal accepted.

 

Cart Information:

Automotive transportation is prohibited. Players and caddies must walk. Pull-carts are PROHIBITED. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.

 

Caddies:

Caddies are permitted. A limited number of caddies are available from The Preserve at a cost of $150, paid directly to the caddie. Please contact The Preserve Golf Shop to make arrangements.

 

Practice Balls:

Provided for players prior to and following competition round at no cost. The practice range will open at 7:00am. The practice putting and chipping greens will open at sunrise.

 

Payment Information:

Credit Cards and reciprocal club chages are accepted for all purchases (golf shop and food and beverage).

 

Food and Beverage Information:

The clubhouse opens at 6:30AM for limited breakfast and lunch items. Credit cards and reciprocal charges accepted.

 

Withdrawals:

Notify the NCGA at 831-625-4653 to withdraw.  Players that fail to notify the NCGA prior to their starting time will be listed as No Shows.

 

Refunds:

In the event of injury or illness, contact the USGA at 908-234-2300 for a refund prior to June 5, 2017. No refunds will be issued after June 5, 2017.  A $35 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

 

ADDITIONAL RULES INFORMATION

 

Rules Information:

The Rules of Golf effective January 1, 2016 are in effect and are supplemented by the 2017 USGA Hard Card.  The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site.  It is the player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition.

 

Limitation of Golf Balls:

The optional condition in Appendix I known as the “One Ball” Rule is in effect. See Appendix I.

 

Automotive Transportation:

The use of automotive transportation is prohibited for players and caddies.  See Appendix I.

 

Footwear:

Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.  Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification.

 

Distance-Measuring Devices:

Distance-Measuring Devices are NOT permitted.

 

Grooves Condition:

Optional condition prescribed in Decision 4-1/1 is in effect.  You may check to see if your grooves are conforming by using the Informational Club Database - http://www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/intro.html

 

Customs and Courtesies
In order to maintain the harmonious experience at The Preserve Golf Club, we ask you to abide by the following courtesies:
 Arrive to 19 Pronghorn Run Carmel, CA 93923 via Rancho San Carlos Rd. off of Carmel Valley Rd. Please do not take Robinson Cyn.
 Once you arrive at the Golf Club, park, and The Preserve Customer Service staff will assist you with your items at your car.
 Cell Phones are permitted in the Golf Clubhouse office, or in the Parking Lot in your car.
 Laptops may be used, sound off, in the Library or Golf Clubhouse Office.
 Men are required to tuck in their collared shirts.
 Cargo Shorts are not permitted.
 Men are required to remove their hats when entering the building.
 Shorts, Skirts, or Skorts are not to be more than 2” above the knee.
Due to the Extreme Fire Danger, No Smoking while on the Golf Course.
