Format:  36 holes stroke play; 18 holes per day.   

 

Start Times:

Boys Championship and Girls First

Friday, December 27 – Del Monte - 9:00 a.m. tee time start on holes #1 and 10.

Saturday, December 28 – Poppy Hills - 8:00 a.m. tee time start on holes #1 and 10.

 

Girls Championship and Boys First

Friday, December 27 – Poppy Hills - 9:00 a.m. tee time stat on holes #1 and 10.

Saturday, December 28 – Del Monte - 8:00 a.m. tee time start on holes #1 and 10.

 

 

Registration:  

Poppy Hills:   Player information and boxed lunches will be located in front of the golf shop at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.  There will be no registration on Friday, players should arrive at their designated tee at least 10 minutes prior to their start time.

Del Monte:  Player information and boxed lunches will be located near the putting green at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.  There will be no registration on Friday, players should arrive at their designated tee at least 10 minutes prior to their start time.

 

Shuttling: 

At Del Monte Players teeing off hole #10 will be shuttled.  Players must meet at the shuttle located in front by the pro shop at least 20 minutes before their tee time.  There will be a sign directing players where to wait.  It is the players’ responsibility to be at the tee on time and ready to play.  The NCGA will be shuttling and will not be responsible for players who arrive late to the shuttling area.  There will be no shuttle at Poppy Hills.

 

Time of StartingPlayers are responsible for showing up and ready to play on time to their correct tee. The player will be penalized for arriving after their time and disqualified for showing up after 4 minutes 59 seconds after their starting time.  The official starting time will be posted at jtnc.org.

 

Range:  Del Monte does not have a driving range. Poppy Hills will have a range open both days for contestants.  The closest range is located at Monterey Pines GC, other ranges in the area include Bayonet/Blackhorse GC, Laguna Seca GC, and Poppy Hills GC (you may use the range at Poppy Hills for no cost).

 

Second Round PairingsSecond round pairings will be available after all first round scores are posted.  The pairing will be available at jtnc.org on the contestant information page.

 

Rules of Play:  The 2019 USGA Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the JTNC rules card.  The committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed on the tournament days. It is the individual player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition. 

 

Walking:  Players must walk at all times, except as authorized by the Committee.  Caddies are not permitted.  Pull or push carts are permitted.  Spectator carts are prohibited. Handicap carts will be available. Individuals must have documentation and be cleared by the JTNC staff. Visit the registration tent to be approved. For questions contact ahartesveldt@ncga.org.

 

Practice RoundPractice rounds are available for players and family.  Please call the golf shop in advance to book your time.

Del Monte and Poppy Hills will have practice rounds available, please call in advance for times.  Both courses are YOC facilities, please check with the course for YOC benefits and restrictions.

 

Food Service:  Food will be available both days for players.  Friday, a box lunch will be available as stated above.  Saturday, a barbeque style lunch will be available at the completion of the round. 

 

Del Monte:  The restaurant will open at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast and close at 5:00 p.m.

Poppy Hills:  The restaurant will open at 6:00 a.m. for breakfast and close at 7:00 p.m.

 

Dress CodePlayers and Spectators must be properly attired both on the golf course and on the premises of the club.  Blue jeans, designer jeans, T-shirts and tank tops are prohibited.  Golf shirts must be worn and shorts must be of appropriate length (no jean shorts).  This dress code will be used at all JTNC competitions in conjunction with any additional dress code restrictions of the particular golf course involvedA violation of this dress code must be rectified without undue delay or the player will not be allowed to continue play. Spectators violating will be asked to change or leave the club.

 

Caddies Prohibited:  Caddies are not allowed at this event.  If a person other than the player moves the cart in a "casual act" the Rules of Golf do not consider this individual to be a caddie. 

 

SpectatorsSpectators must wear proper attire while at the club.  Please see the Dress Code policy above. 

 

The use of electronic devices should be limited to areas where their use will not distract players on the course.  Spectators must maintain at least 25 yards from the players and avoid even the appearance of imparting advice or assisting the player in any way.  A spectator may approach a player briefly to hand clothing, food or beverages to the player, but should not have prolonged conversations.  Please walk ahead of the group you are following and stay in the rough or near the cart paths.  Do not delay groups by walking slowly.  Spectators must stay off the greens and out of the bunkers at all times.  Spectators violating these policies may be asked to leave the course.  Spectator carts are prohibited.  Handicap carts will be available for $20 per cart.  Individuals must have documentation and be cleared by the JTNC staff.  Please visit the registration table on Saturday to be cleared or find a JTNC staff on Sunday.

 

Ties:  In the event of ties, there will be a play-off for first place. Ties for second and third will be decided using the USGA’s method for matching cards.  In a competition with a multiple tee start, the last nine holes will be holes 10-18.

 

Late Appearance:  It is the responsibility of the players to be at their assigned tee at the time that the Committee orders play to begin.    The course will not page players to the tee. 

 

Withdrawals & No ShowsPlayers who enter a JTNC event and wish to withdraw for any reason MUST notify the JTNC/NCGA staff at the Rules and Competitions department at (831) 625-4653. Failure to notify the JTNC/NCGA will result in a NO SHOW and the player will receive a one-year suspension from all JTNC events for the following calendar year following the infraction. A player who only contacts the course and NOT the JTNC/NCGA will incur the suspension.

 

Footwear: The Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-7. Penalty for breach of Local Rule – see Rule 4.3.
