ENTRY ELIGIBILITY, PROCEDURE & INFORMATION

All tournament applicants (both team members) must be a member of a Trans-Miss Member Club or make an annual contribution ($100) to the Trans-Miss Golf Association.  Entries are open to male amateur golfers who meet the following criteria:

 

Championship Division:  Players who have reached their 25th birthday on or before the first round of competition (September 23rd, 2019).  Teams must have a combined USGA handicap index of 10.0 or less at the time of entry.

 

Senior Division:  Players who have reached their 55th birthday on or before the first round of competition.  Teams must have a combined USGA handicap index of 14.0 or less.

 

Super Senior Division:  Players who have reached their 65th birthday on or before the first round of competition.  Teams must have a combined USGA handicap index of 16.0 or less.

 

Entries will be accepted in the order they are received at the discretion of the Trans-Mississippi Four-Ball Committee; preference will be given to past participants in Trans-Mississippi Golf Association Championships, competitive record in prior Trans-Mississippi Golf Association Championships, competitive record of each team member in competitive championships and contributions made to the Turf Scholarship Fund.  If a particular division is not full by Wednesday, July 17th and there is a wait list in another division, spots in the field may be filled by those teams on the wait list.

 

EXEMPTIONS

All exempt players who meet the criteria outlined below are required to register before Wednesday, July 17th at 5:00 PM (Central).

  1. Past Champions in the Championship (Mid-Amateur) Division for the previous five (5) championships.
  2. Past Champions in the Senior Division for the previous five (5) championships.
  3. Past Champion in the Super Senior division in the previous year’s championship.
  4. Top five (5) Finishers (and ties) in the previous year’s Championship (Mid-Amateur) Division.
  5. Top three (3) Finishers (and ties) in the previous year’s Senior Division.
  6. Trans-Mississippi Golf Association/Host Club Selections.

 

FORMAT & DIVISIONS

The championship will be contested over 54 holes of four-ball stroke play with three (3) divisions; Championship, Senior and Super Senior.  Each division will play from separate tees/yardages and separate champions will be recognized in each division.

 

Field Cut:  At the conclusion of 36 holes the field will be cut to the low 48 teams (and ties), with a pro-rated representation from each division.  The pro-rated allocation of teams making the cut from each division will be reflective of the number of teams in each division, relative to the total field size.  The determination of total field size, number of teams in each division and pro-rated representation of teams making the cut (before ties) will be announced in conjunction with pairings being posted.

 

The field is limited to 96 teams, as outlined below:

Mid-Amateur                        25 & Over (36 teams)

Senior                                     55 & Over (36 teams)

Super Senior                         65 & Over (24 teams)

 

ON-SITE CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION

All competitors must register with Trans-Mississippi staff prior to the start of the championship.  Players that do not register may be subject to disqualification.  Official tournament registration will be held at Spanish Oaks Golf Club on Sunday, September 22nd from 11:30 am – 5:00 pm.  Competitors who are unable to register on the date and time listed above must contact a Trans-Mississippi staff in advance of the Championship.

 

OFFICIAL PRACTICE ROUND

The Practice round will be a shotgun start at 1:30 PM on Sunday, September 22nd.  Players should contact the Trans-Miss for any pairing request prior to Wednesday, September 18th.  Players are limited to one (1) complementary practice round on the designated practice round date.

 

STARTING TIMES/PAIRINGS       

Starting times/pairings for the first and second rounds will be made available no later than Thursday, September 19th.  Final round starting times/pairings will be available in the evening preceding play at www.trans-miss.org, in the Trans-Mississippi Tournament Office and the Golf Shop.  Final round starting times will be re-drawn based on total score following the second round of play.

TRANSPORTATION/CADDIES

Players may walk or ride at their own discretion.  Caddies are permitted, but are not guaranteed a cart seat.  Cart fees for the tournament are included in the entry fee.  Carts are limited to two (2) riders at a time, and a maximum of two (2) carts per group.

 

PLAYER RECEPTION

All competitors and a guest are invited to attend a reception on Sunday, September 22nd at Spanish Oaks Golf Club.  All reception costs, including hors d’oeuvres and beverages are included in the entry fee.  The reception will begin at 7:00 PM following the Official Practice Round.  Dress code for the reception is, at minimum, golf attire (shorts are permitted).

 

CLUBHOUSE FACILITIES

The Clubhouse facilities will be open daily at 7:00 AM.  Player’s will be responsible for lunch purchased on the practice round day.  Breakfast and lunch are provided for all three days of the championship and are included with each team entry fee for the championship.  Guests may dine with players, but will be charged the appropriate cost for the same meal.  Acceptable forms of payment in the Spanish Oaks clubhouse will be distributed to players in advance of the championship.  All other food and beverage consumed will be at the competitor’s expense – breakfast and lunch options will be available for purchase as noted above; all charges will include appropriate gratuity charge and sales tax.

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES

Practice Facilities will be available to all competitors for the duration of the Championship.  The practice facilities will open Sunday, September 22nd at 12:00 pm and throughout each championship round, beginning one hour prior to the first starting time.  The practice range will close at dusk for maintenance each evening.

 

LOCKERS & CLUB STORAGE

There will be limited lockers and club storage available at club during the championship.  Players interested in these services should inquire at registration with a member of the golf shop staff.

 

POLICIES & PROCEDURES/CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION

The Trans-Mississippi Code of Conduct and Dress Code are in effect throughout the championship.  Violations will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct.  All competitors should be familiar with all Trans-Mississippi Conditions of Competitions and Policies.  If you have any questions, please click here for additional information or consult with Trans-Mississippi Tournament Officials.

 

PARTNER SUBSTITUTION

Partner substitutions for the Trans-Miss Four-Ball are permitted.  Substitutions for teams will be permitted prior to the start of competition and individuals must meet the minimum eligibility requirements for the Trans-Miss Golf Association, as well as the specific tournament requirements (i.e., age, USGA Handicap Index, etc.).  A player may not select a substitute partner from those players who are already in the championship field.  Players who are on the waitlist are eligible substitutions.  Contact the Trans-Miss Golf Association at (469) 458-9988 or email at akolb@trans-miss.org to arrange your team substitutions.

 

WITHDRAWAL/NO SHOW POLICY          

If you find you cannot compete in the championship, you must officially withdraw from the event by contacting Trans-Mississippi Staff at 469.458.9988 or by emailing akolb@trans-miss.org.  If you do not officially withdraw, you may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION from future Trans-Mississippi Championships.  Any team withdrawing prior to Wednesday, September 4th at 5:00 pm will receive a full refund, less a $50.00 administrative fee.  Any withdrawals after the September 4th deadline will not receive a refund unless a spot is filled by a team on the wait list.
