Fore! The 12th Annual Abbey’s Hope Golf Tournament is quickly approaching. All of us here at Abbey’s Hope look forward to this event each year. This event gives us the opportunity to have a bit of fun, raise some money, showcase our mission, bring you up to speed on what we’ve been doing, but mostly, to thank you for your time, expertise, donations and support.

By any standard, this has been a fantastic year. The award-winning Abbey’s Hope television and radio PSA is still airing throughout Minnesota and around the country. For the second year the Ohio Department of Health is broadcasting the PSA throughout the state this summer. The PSA first aired in April 2016 and since then, it has been viewed millions and millions of times, and shared on social media just as much. Much of the credit goes to you, our supporters, for helping us produce and distribute this critical safety message. Of course, we were busy this past year on other fronts since we last gathered. Our foundation still supports the YMCA to help underwrite its swim lesson and water safety program which teaches children, who could not otherwise afford it, to learn how to swim. This will be our 9th straight year of support for this valued partner. The federal government still regularly turns to our foundation for help in spreading the word about water safety. In fact, earlier this summer, our staff helped prepare members of Congress for hearings on the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act and the Consumer Protect Safety Commission—the agency that enforces this landmark law. The good news is that since the effective date of this legislation, not a single child has died in a public pool due to an entrapment. 

Our daughter Abbey’s hope has become a reality!! We are looking forward to seeing you at Olympic Hills Golf Club on September 9th so we can fill you in on all our activities and have some fun while doing it. As always, this tournament will fill up very, very quickly so we urge you to register for this event as soon as it opens.
