Basic Tournament Rules;

BMGC TOURNAMENTS USE ORANGE MEMBER TEES

ALL SCORECARDS MUST HAVE A TIME CLOCK STAMP AFTER 9 AND 18 HOLES.

YOU MUST FINISH IN 4 HRS 20 MINUTES OR WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF THE GROUP AHEAD OF YOU TO AVIOD PENALTY.

FAILURE TO STAMP CARD OR FINISH WITHIN THE TIME WILL RESULT IN A 2-STROKE PENALTY FOR THE ENTIRE GROUP APPLIED ON HOLE #18.

   Embedded Ball: The golfer may take relief for an embedded ball, which is a ball embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground, through the green.  The ball must be dropped as near as possible to the spot where it lay, not nearer the hole.  Do not repair the pitch-mark until after you have taken relief and hit your shot.  Requirements: In the ground: A ball is not considered embedded if it is embedded in grass, leaves or other loose impediments. In order to consider embedded, the ball’s pitch-mark must be below the level of the ground.

  Ball in Abnormal Ground Condition Not Found: As per 25-2 – All members of the group must agree that the ball has been lost in the abnormal condition, defined by the Club as ‘any casual water, excessively muddy area, GUR or hole on the course made by a burrowing animal, bird, etc.’. A ball must be dropped at the closest point of relief from where it was determined to be lost, no closer to the hole, with no penalty.

 Immovable Obstruction 24-2 a. Interference; Interference by an immovable obstruction occurs when a ball lies in or on the obstruction, or when the obstruction interferes with the player's stance or the area of his intended swing. If the player's ball lies on the putting green, interference also occurs if an immovable obstruction on the putting green intervenes on his line of putt. Otherwise, intervention on the line of play is not, of itself, interference under this Rule.

b. Relief; Except when the ball is in a water hazard or a lateral water hazard, a player may take relief from interference by an immovable obstruction as follows:

(i)Through the Green: If the ball lies through the green, the player must lift the ball and drop it, without penalty, within one club-length of and not nearer the hole than the nearest point of relief. The nearest point of relief must not be in a hazard or on a putting green. When the ball is dropped within one club-length of the nearest point of relief, the ball must first strike a part of the course at a spot that avoids interference by the immovable obstruction and is not in a hazard and not on a putting green. Immovable Obstructions: Flowerbeds, yardage discs, sprinkler heads and controller boxes, restroom buildings and cart paths are all considered to be immovable obstructions

Boundary Fencing: All sides of the Driving Range fencing are considered to be a boundary fences. A free drop is NOT allowed.

Unsure How to Proceed? During the course of play if you are in doubt as to how to proceed under a rule, play a second ball under USGA Rule 3-3. You are required to bring it to the attention of the tournament committee immediately following the round. The committee’s decision is final.

Notes: "Closely mown area" means any area of the course, including paths through the rough, cut to fairway height or less. “Through the green” means the whole area of the course except the teeing ground and the putting green of the hole being played and all hazards.
