SMGA 2-Man 24-Ball Tournament Results
Champions: Ray Krawiec and Jim Banta
On Monday, December 16th, under cold, gray skies and on a soggy golf course, the final tournament of the 2024 calendar year - but first tournament of the 2025 POY season - was played by 26 2-man teams. Jim Banta set the tone early on the first hole with a chip-in birdie on #12 (net Eagle), Ray Krawiec followed that with a par (net birdie), and the twosome never looked back from that early 3-stroke lead, finishing 11 under on the day. Mark Humphlett and David Nieman finished 3 strokes back in second place.
Runners Up: Mark Humphlett and David Nieman
Jeff Sanborn had CTTP on #6, Jerry Matthews had CTTP on both #11 and #13.

A Final Post about the SMGA 2025 Season
The final week of the 2025 SMGA Season provided lots of excitement and good times. First, SMGA and MGA member Jerry Matthews won the coveted MGA Woodmont Cup with a hard fought 2&1 victory!
Congratulations Jerry! Well done!
Two days later we held the 2025 SMGA Invitational. Each year the SMGA Invitational is held to recognize the members who throughout the year participated the most and performed the best in our SMGA tournaments.
This year we had a playing field comprised of 32 of the top golfers in Player-of-the-Year points led by 2025 SMGA Player of the Year Jeff Moore, and in the Most Improved Player category (as measured by GHIN calculations). The group competed in a Dogfight / Stableford points game, in which each golfer plays against their own points quota target.
The Final results for the 2025 SMGA Invitational are:
Overall Winners: 1st Place: Bill Wall
2nd Place: Bruce Rockwell
3rd Place: Gary Kaneshiro
Top 3 in each Flight:
Flight 1 1st Place: Kory Krucher
2nd Place: Larry Clausen
3rd Place: Jim Banta
Flight 2 1st Place: Bill Wall

On behalf of the SMGA Board we want to thank all the members for being a part of this great group we have here at Woodmont, and for their participation in this year’s events that made it such an awesome season! We are excited for what the 2026 season will bring!
