CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION

POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

• Prior to participating, participants should review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.

 

FORMAT:

• All players will participate in a 36-hole four-ball net stroke-play championship (18 holes each day).
• During the championship, players will use their Handicap Index as of September 28 and will receive 85% of their Course Handicap (unless otherwise noted by the SCGA).
• No substitutions are permitted at the championship proper.
• Awards will be given to those who finish in 1^st through 5^th place. All ties will be broken using the USGA suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).

 

REGISTRATION:

• At least one player from each side must check-in at the SCGA tent located outside the golf shop on Monday morning. Registration begins at 6 a.m.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

• Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense, based on availability. To book a practice round, visit anaheimhillsgc.com. Standard rates apply. Only credit cards will be accepted.
• Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
• We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

• Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the championship.
• Starting times will range from 7:30 a.m. – 10:40 a.m. each day.
• Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.

 

TEES & YARDAGE:   

• Men will play from the BLACK SCGA tee markers, wherever they are situated. Yardage information can be found  HERE.
• Women will play from the GOLD tee markers, wherever they are situated. Yardage information can be found HERE.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

• The driving range will be available at sunrise on each morning of the championship. 
• Range balls will be provided, compliments of Anaheim Hills GC and the SCGA.
• Players will obtain a code for practice range balls from the Golf Shop.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

• Gallery Food & Libations will be open each day beginning at 7:00 a.m.
• A buffet lunch will be provided for all players after Round 1.
• Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for any additional food & beverage purchases.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

• The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.

GOLF CARTS, PULL/PUSH CARTS:

• Golf carts are included for the Championship. Due to the nature and terrain of the golf course, players are strongly encouraged to take a cart.
• There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
• Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
• Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
• Pull or push carts are permitted.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

• Players may provide their own caddie (see section on golf carts).
• Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

 

DRESS CODE:

• Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

• The SCGA does not allow substitutions at the championship proper.
• One player may represent the side in the event his/her partner is unable to participate.
• To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
• Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
