Terms of the Competition

 

 

54 Hole Stroke Play Competition using Stableford Scoring

 

Stableford Points:

Double Bogey and UP – 0 points, Bogey – 1 point, Par – 2 points, Birdie – 3 points, Eagle – 4 points, Double Eagle- 5 points, Triple Eagle- 6 points

 

Flights:

Men’s Flights will be divided evenly by Hcp Index into four flights

Ladies Flights will be divided evenly by Hcp Index into three flights

Flight sizes may change based on participation.

Additionally we will have Men’s and Ladies Flights by Age

·  Seniors (50 - 59 years old)

·  Super Seniors (60 - 69 years old)

·  Master Seniors (70 – 79 years old)

·  Elite Seniors (80 years old and up)

 

Prizes-

  • Gross and Net Prizes will be awarded for the four men’s flights and three ladies flights
  • First place Net will be awarded for the Senior, Super Seniors, Master Seniors and Elite Seniors
  • The Gilles Gagnon Award will be given to the overall Gross & Net male and female players
  • Players are only eligible to win one prize and that prize will be the best prize.

Other-

  • Optional daily low and daily Net and Gross skins game per course - $60 per amateur.

AMATEUR TEES - Tees will be assigned according to the following formula for male amateurs:

  • If the amateurs age plus his hcp index = 80.0 and he is 70 years old or older he is eligible to play from the Green Tees.
  • If the player’s age and hcp index equals 70.0 and up, he will play from the White tees
  • If the players age and hcp index equals 69.9 and below, the player will play from the blue tees.
  • All amateur ladies will play the red tees.

 

Handicaps -As suggested in the USGA Handicap Manual:

  • Players must have a valid GHIN number to compete in the Net competition
  • Players will us 100% of their course handicap
  • Section 3-5 (Players Competing from Different Sets of Tees) is in effect
  • We will use the September 1stHcp revisionfor all Amateur Golfers.
  • Players are responsible for posting their scores - Scores recorded in this event are NOT Tournament Scores.

 

Tiebreaker for Flights:

The final round will be used to break ties for the flight prizes. Net for Net and Gross for Gross. 

  • Tie Break Method: Last course played, Best 18 hole score, if still tied then,Last 9, last 6, last 3, last 1, than 18 back to 1. Net for Net and Gross for Gross
  • In the event a tie exists after the tie breaker method for the last round, we will use the same method for the previous round and so on.
  • In the event of rain, the last round played will be used to break the tie.

 

Tiebreaker for the Overall Gilles Gagon Award:

The best Teeth of the Dog Round will be used to break the Tie, if still tied the method to break ties in flights will be used. The course rotation to break ties will be: Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore , Links. If still tied, both players will be awarded the Gilles Gagnon Award. 

 

In the event of a Rain Out -

  • If a round is canceled due to rain, that round will not count as a tournament round- The event will not make up holes the following day.
  • The event must have 18 holes completed to have official results-
  • If a round is canceled - All skins, dialy low money, will be reallocated to the official tournament rounds that are completed.
  • If no rounds are completed, players will be refunded their cash skins/daily lowmoney

 

Pace of Play- Ready golf is highly encouraged- Model Local Rule K-1, K-2, K-5 are in effect.

 

Scorecards: Please check your scorecard for accuracy before turning your card into the committee. All cards must be properly signed. 

 

Practice Between Holes in Stoke Play: Rule 5.5B is modefied by model local rule I-2. which means practice between holes during competition is not permitted. General Penalty applies

Dye Fore has a new shortgame practice area, practice is not allowed on 9 or 18 green prior to play.  

 

Suspension of Play Due to a Dangerous Situation- Model Local rule J-1

When play is suspended by the Committee for a dangerous situation, if the players in a match or group are between the play of two holes, they must not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. If they are in the process of playing a hole, they must discontinue play immediately and not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. This information will be sent over the GPS screen.

 

Tournament Closed:

The event is closed when the committee has closed the event in the tournament software.
