When may I register to volunteer?
Desert Mountain Club Members may register to volunteer any time after October 1, 2025.
General registration for volunteers will begin on November 1, 2025
What is the time commitment for volunteering?
All volunteers will be encouraged to volunteer for a minimum of two (2) shifts with each shift lasting five to six hours. Volunteers will be responsible for arriving at their assigned positions on time. Desert Mountain staff will conduct a mandatory training session for volunteers in early May, prior to the Championship.
Could I be scheduled at the same time as my spouse, friend, etc.?
We will make every effort to accommodate your schedule requests. Make sure to list your request on your volunteer application and select similar availability.
When will I find out my volunteer schedule?
Volunteers will be sent an email regarding shift availability in March 2026. We will use these forms to create volunteer schedules. You will be notified of the dates you are scheduled to work in late April 2026.
As always, we will make every effort to accommodate your availability preferences; however, we cannot guarantee that each request will be granted. If you are traveling from out of state and have made travel arrangements, please indicate that on the form.
If I don’t like my volunteer assignment, can I move to another assignment?
All volunteer assignments will be final once the schedule is published and sent to volunteers. We will attempt to assign each volunteer to one of his or her top preferences; however, in many cases this may not be possible due to the request for certain committees outnumbering their respective staffing requirements. If the preferences you selected is full, we will assign you to another assignment that still has availability.
If I am no longer able to volunteer, may I receive a refund?
Yes, you will be issued a refund if you cancel before April 15, 2026. The refund will take 3 to 5 business days and will be credited back to the credit card originally used for payment. Any cancellations after April 15, 2026 will not receive a refund and you will forfeit the uniform package plus any volunteer privileges.
What is included in the volunteer package?
All volunteers will receive two (2) Peter Millar U.S. Amateur Four-Ball logoed golf shirts and (1) hat. The hat will be offered in a structured or non-structured style. Men’s shirt sizes are small through XXXL. Women’s shirt sizes are XS through XXXL. Please indicate whether you prefer men's or women’s shirt sizes.
Will I receive any training prior to the Championship?
Yes. A mandatory volunteer training will take place on Monday, May 11 anytime between 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Desert Mountain Cochise/Geronimo Clubhouse. Desert Mountain Club Members may attend a volunteer training on Tuesday, May 12 anytime between 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. in the Cochise/Geronimo Clubhouse. Uniform distribution, role specific training, volunteer schedules, and credentials will be available at the training session. Specific details will be communicated to all volunteers prior to the volunteer training date.
How do I pick up my apparel package?
Uniforms will be available for pick up at the specific volunteer training date in May 2026.
What do I do if I need to exchange for a different size shirt?
Uniforms must be exchanged on the apparel pick-up date. Dressing rooms will be available to try on uniforms and necessary exchanges can be made at that time.
What color bottoms should I wear?
Men and women may wear their own khaki-colored pants or shorts/skorts that are of appropriate length.
Do I have to wear the volunteer apparel provided?
You are REQUIRED to wear the official volunteer uniform issued during your scheduled shifts at the Championship. We ask that you do not wear the volunteer uniform if you are attending as a spectator.
Will I have the opportunity to purchase official U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship apparel in the shop?
Yes, you will have an opportunity to purchase additional apparel in the golf shop at a 20% discount during the Championship from May 16- May 20.
Is there a volunteer appreciation day?
If you have registered for at least two (2) volunteer shifts during the Championship, we invite you to join us for a volunteer appreciation lunch on Thursday, May 21 at the Cochise/Geronimo Clubhouse at 12:00 p.m. Registration for the lunch is required and the invitation will be sent via email in April 2026.
If you have registered for at least three (3) volunteer shifts at the Championship, we invite you to join us for the golf outing on the Cochise course and the post-round lunch on Thursday, May 21 starting at 8:00 a.m. Registration for this is required and will be limited to the first 120 who register via email in April 2026.
The Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon and Golf outing are limited to Championship volunteers only - no additional guests will be permitted at either event.
Are there any additional golf privileges for volunteers?
There are no additional golf privileges for volunteers other than listed above.
