Returning Volunteer
Please make sure you login using the link in the top right of this screen. Once you login, you will have the opportunity to register to volunteer.
Registration to sign up to work events opens at 12:00 am, January 1, 2026.
(This means the New Year's Eve ball drop in Times Square
now has a new meaning for you!)
For 2026, the process has changed and been markedly improved over last year. Here are some things to know as you register:
- The terms "Day" and "Round" are synonymous. Thus, you will be registering to work a "Day" (although, there is one exception).
- If you wish to work multiple days of a tournament, you will need to register to work for each day.
- The name of the Day will include the name of the golf course in ( ), such as "US Open Local Qualifying #1 (North Oaks)" means the event is at North Oaks Golf Club.
- NOTE: If you are unfamiliar with a course or where it is located, use this link to search the course on the MGA website.
- When you register to work a Day, it will ask you the "Shift" you wish to work. This is consistent with what we have used in the past - AM, PM or All Day.
- NOTE: Not all Rounds will have an AM, PM or All Day option.
- AM Shift is "Beginning of Play to about 12-1p" (i.e. 7a-1p).
- PM Shift is "12-1p to End of Play" (i.e. 12p-6p).
- All Day is what it means, although we try to go early start to an earlier end or later start to late end (i.e. 7a-5p or 9a-7p).
- NOTE: Not all Rounds will have an AM, PM or All Day option.
- Registration closes for an event at 5 pm ONE WEEK prior to the first scheduled day of play for the event. This allows for staff to do the scheduling and send out notifications.
- If you register to work an event, you ARE NOT guaranteed to work the event. Staff will take the list of registered individuals and apply them according to the number of volunteers required and the appropriate number of volunteers per classification. The number of volunteers needed will depend upon many factors, including the number of players, length of day, golf course being used
- You will have the opportunity to send a message to Bob, Holly or Doug from within the signup screen for a particular Day. This can be used to notify them of any special conditions that might apply to your working, such as you are willing to work All Day but must leave by 4p. This is helpful in scheduling.
- A "List of Volunteers" for each event also may be found under the "Schedule" tab in the blue menu banner. Simply click on it and use the drop down box to scroll to the event you wish to view.
Once you have logged in, there will be two means by which you will be able to see the list of Days needing volunteers. The first is in the left margin. Simply click on the event you wish to work, complete the form and save it. Keep in mind, the list is very long (over 80 Days), but it is listed chronologically for convenience.
The second way you can register is by using the "2026 MGA Volunteer Schedule" found under the "Schedule" tab in the blue menu banner. This also will give you the list of events in chronological order, tell you the status of the event (Open or Closed), the deadline for registering to work the event and the name and contact information for the MGA Staff Member or Site Captain responsible for that event, which can be found by clicking on the "More Info" link in the right column. In addition, the "Tee Sheet" column will show the list of volunteers who are registered to work that event. This is helpful as you can see which events need staffing or if a friend is working so you can arrange to carpool.
Please remember to use the blue menu bar above for more resources, including the always valuable list of all volunteers and their contact information (email, cell phone). This information is for Volunteer use only and not for public distribution. Please do not share this information with anyone without the expressed consent of the person whose information you want to share. Volunteers may OPT OUT of having their information on this list by notifying the MGA staff (Bob, Holly or Doug) at any time.
