Terms of the Competition

 

Format:  54 Hole Individual Stroke Play

Flights:

  • Men will be divided by handicap index into even flights of 6
  • Ladies will be divided by handicap index into even flights of 3 
  • Flights may vary depending on amount of players

Prizes:

  • Overall Winner for Men and Women
  • First & Second Place Net and Gross per flight 
  • Daily Closest to the Pin for all players per course 

TEES - Please see Course Yardage Tab for approximate distances per course

  • Men's Flights 1 and 2 will play the Blue Tees
    • Men who qualify for Flights 1 or 2 and are 60 years old or older may choose to play from the white tees. These players must decide prior to teeing off which tee they prefer to play and are not allowed to switch tees once they have decided.
    • Men’s Flight 3-6 play the White Tees
    • Men's Flight 3-6 - players whose age plus hcp index is 80.0 and up, and these players are 70 years old or older, qualify to play the green tees.
  • All Ladies will play the Red Tees 

Handicaps -As suggested in the USGA Handicap Manual:

  • 100% of players course handicap will be used
  • Section 3-5 (Players Competing from Different Sets of Tees) is in effect,
  • We will use the April 15 handicap revisions for all Amateur Golfers
  • Players are responsible for posting their scores - Scores recorded in this event are NOT Tournament Scores.
  • Players without a verified handicap id number will only qualify for gross prizes.

 

 

 

Course Rotation

  • Day 1 – Links – 8:30AM
  • Day 2- Dye Fore- 8:30 AM
  • Day 3- Teeth of the Dog – 8:00AM 

Tiebreaker

  • The Teeth of the Dog Round will be used to break a tie, Starting with the low Teeth round, If still tied we will compare the last 9, last 6, last 3, last 1, then 18 back to 1. If still tied the same method will be used for the Links then Dye Fore. If still tied a coin flip will determine the winner. Net for Net and Gross for Gross. 

In the event of a Rain Out -

  1. If a round is canceled due to rain, that round will not count as a tournament round- The event will not make up holes the following day.
  2. The event must have 18 holes completed to have official results-
  3. In the event of rain, the Tie Break Method will be the low last round played if still tied, Last 9, last 6, last 3, last 1, than 18 back to 1. If still tied we will go back to the previous round played. If only one round is played and we still have a tie, a coin flip will determine the winner.  
  4. If a round is canceled - All skins/hole in one purse, will be reallocated to the official tournament rounds that are completed. 
  5. If no rounds are completed, players will be refunded their cash skins money.
  6. If we are not able to hold the shootout due to rain- the low net and gross men and low net and gross women will be determined and a coin flip will determine the overall winner. 

Skins & Hole in One:

  • There is an optional Net and Gross Skins Game as well as Hole in 1 pot.
  • Skins will be against the field.

 

 

 

 

 

SHOOTOUT FORMAT

The shootout is divided into 4 different groups:

  1. Ladies Gross winners & runner ups
  2. Ladies Net winners & runner ups
  3. Men’s Gross winners
  4. Men’s Net winners
  • All Men will play the tee's they where playing in the tournament and all Ladies will play the Red Tees.
  • All shootout competitions are net individual stroke play – each player will receive their hcp strokes where they fall and will use the same course hcp from Teeth of the Dog for the Shootout.
  • After the first hole, 2 players are eliminated.
  • After the second hole, 2 players are eliminated
  • After the third hole we will have a group winner
  • The four winners will then go to #9 to determine the Overall Champions for both the men and ladies divisions
  • In the event of a tie in any hole of the shootout a closest to the pin chip off will be held to determine the winner.

Chip Off Rules:

  • The professionals determine the shot
  • Any club may be used
  • The second + person to hit may not watch any of the players hit before them
  • The professional will measure the distance from the hole and remove the ball
  • The ball or ball’s closest to the flag will move on

Men: The gross and net winners in each flight qualify for the Shootout.

Ladies: The gross and net winners and runners up in each flight qualify for the  

Pace of Play- Ready golf is highly encouraged- Model Local Rule K-1, K-2, K-5 are in effect. 

Scorecards: Please check your scorecard for accuracy before turning your card into the committee. All cards must be properly signed.  

Practice Between Holes in Stoke Play: Rule 5.5B is modified by model local rule I-2. Which means practice between holes during competition is not permitted. General Penalty applies

Dye Fore has a new short game practice area, practice is not allowed on 9 or 18 green prior to play.  

Suspension of Play Due to a Dangerous Situation- Model Local rule J-1

When play is suspended by the Committee for a dangerous situation, if the players in a match or group are between the play of two holes, they must not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. If they are in the process of playing a hole, they must discontinue play immediately and not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. This information will be sent over the GPS screen. 

Tournament Closed:

The event is closed when the committee has closed the event in the tournament software.
